Thuma Dresser Review: The Quality Is So Good, This Is the Last Dresser I'll Ever Have to Buy

For the last year-and-a-half, I’ve had one mission for my bedroom: get rid of all the millennial gray. With my latest upgrade, my journey has finally come to an end. I swapped out my budget dreary dresser, with drawer pulls that got caught on my favorite outfits, for an upgrade that suits my taste. The Thuma Nest Dresser is the bedroom centerpiece I’ve been waiting for.

I already knew I loved Thuma for its quality. I sleep on my Thuma Signature bed every night, so another sturdy, polished pick from the brand was a no-brainer. It helped that the dresser is made of beautiful, solid wood and has plenty of space for styling on top. I’ve fallen in love with it, and it’s more than worth the investment. Below, I outline exactly why.

I opted for the 4 x 2 configuration of the Thuma Nest Dresser, leaving plenty of space for storage and room on top for styling.

The Thuma Nest Dresser comes with nine customizable configurations. You can stack up to five drawers vertically and up to three columns horizontally. So whether you need storage for a studio apartment or a sprawling living room console, it’ll fit your needs. I opted for the 4 x 2 configuration in a Walnut brown to match my beloved rotating bookshelf. This added two extra drawers of space to my original dresser setup, which I couldn’t be happier about. But if you prefer a different color finish, it’s also available in espresso brown, gray, and a natural light wood. It’s designed to be compatible with other pieces from Thuma’s bedroom furniture, but I find its sleek design fits seamlessly in any space.

Each dresser drawer arrived in its own box. This made it easy to fit in my building’s narrow elevator.

The drawers stack together seamlessly, but you’ll want to start assembly where you intend to keep the dresser.

I opted for Thuma’s White Glove Delivery to make things as seamless as possible. Each drawer arrives in its own separate box, so it’s easy for the boxes to navigate narrow corridors and apartment buildings. The sturdy wood is pretty heavy, though, so boxes should be lifted with a friend. The great news is that Thuma is known for easy assembly. Putting this dresser together will not lead to an argument. The pieces stack together like LEGO blocks and secure vertically with screws you turn by hand. No drill bits or marriage counselor required. The full assembly took less than 20 minutes. A quick heads up: there’s a lot of cardboard. You will be breaking down boxes for longer than it takes to put the dresser together.

I’m honestly blown away by the quality of the Thuma Nest Dresser. This isn’t quick furniture: it’s built to last. It’s made of 100 percent solid, upcycled wood, and the color variation in the wood grain is so beautiful to look at. The wood itself is also Greenguard Gold-certified against harmful chemicals, so there’s no unpleasant off-gassing or factory smell.

It’s worth mentioning that if you get any of the two- or three-column configurations, the columns sit independently side-by-side. They stay put very well during use, but there is a natural gap between the two sections. However, there are no pesky knobs or drawer pulls that can snag on things. Instead, each drawer has a small hidden lip that’s easy to grab and open. The drawers open up easily. My favorite feature, though, is the soft-close mechanism. There’s no chance of slamming your fingers in a drawer by accident.

The drawers are deep enough to stack my clothes on top of each other. I finally have space to separate things instead of shoving whatever I can fit inside.

The most important feature of any dresser is whether it can actually store your things. With the Nest Dresser, I have enough storage space that there’s actually an empty drawer. Plus, with more drawers to choose from, my clothes feel more organized. I don’t have to stuff my socks and swimsuits in the same section anymore! There’s room for two layers of clothes rolled up. Plus, the top level of drawers has a long wooden tray layer. I’ve had a blast finding trinkets, books, and florals to style the space up top.

I love the Nest dresser for its easy assembly, sophisticated look, and deep drawers that close softly. However, once it’s put together, if an errant sock were to fall behind the drawer, it would be a bit of a pain to retrieve. You’d have to disassemble the side where it fell, because the drawers don’t rest on tracks that you can easily remove. That is one small price to pay for the coolest piece of bedroom furniture I own.

This is the kind of furniture you save up for. It's an investment in storage and style, and it’ll stand the test of time. I don’t think I’ll be buying another dresser for years after getting the Thuma. I’m glad I waited until I could get this one. Now, my bedroom is full of warm, bright wood and feels so much more bougie. It makes me want to buy wood polish so it looks pristine forever.
