In a TV spot for Ashley’s new Ashley Luxe line, actress Hailee Steinfeld, exasperated by her failure to find the perfect black-tie ensemble in her closet, takes a blade to a Calden sectional and, cushion innards flying and fabric theatrically ripping, fashions a red-carpet-ready stunner of a gown from the upholstery. The ad is funny, surprising, and adorable—but once you’ve seen the stylish new Luxe line, you may really regret what was done to that beautiful sofa.

Ashley Luxe represents the brand’s most refined, elegant furniture to date, made with premium materials and a discerning design eye. What’s more, true to the brand’s ethos, here, high style doesn’t mean premium prices. A stroll through the line’s five individual collections (put down the scissors first, please) illustrates that furniture can be both luxurious and livable.

Bracken, the new line’s most wide-ranging collection, with everything from delicate upholstered side chairs to an imposing wood canopy-frame bed (shown at top) unifies its 14 pieces with a focus on structured silhouettes tempered by natural materials. The round dining table above is topped with a seamless marble slab, so each table is one-of-a-kind. The airiness of lattice-back chairs nicely balances the table’s solid pedestal.

Calden and Whitehaven

The Luxe line has three living-room-specific collections, two of which—Calden and Whitehaven—offer versatile modular components that can be configured as a sofa, chair, chaise, or sectional. (Only one, however, can also be configured into an off-the-shoulder, floor-length gown.)

The Calden sectional (above) is the more structured and sleek of the two. All of its upholstery options—leather, velvet, and bouclé—are meant to lend texture and visual depth. The Whitehaven version (below) is a more relaxed take on the contemporary aesthetic, with rounder, plusher cushions and a sink-back-and-stay-awhile 45" seat depth.

Modero

Modero, Ashley Luxe’s other seating-focused collection, gives the classic leather club sofa a significant upgrade both in looks—with tailored waterfall-edge cushions and horizontal channel stitching across the back—and function, incorporating “motion seating” via an adjustable power-recline control. You can combine as few as two and as many as eight of the individual sections to create the ideally sized sectional.

Neo

The coffee and side tables shown above with the Modero sectional are from the Ashley Luxe Neo collection, which also includes (among other pieces) coordinating bedroom casegoods with the same rounded-edge style—a dresser, a chest of drawers, and the nightstands below, all in rich espresso brown. For a stylish contrast, the collection’s low-slung wingback bed is upholstered in creamy off-white bouclé.

Along with sophisticated style, every collection in the Ashley Luxe line incorporates thoughtful, craftsman-level details like soft-close cabinet doors and built-in charging ports. The look is luxury. The result is livability.
