There's no such thing as too many orchids.
That's what Bahamas-based designer Amanda Lindroth told her artist friend after taking on this bland white "empty cube." The rest is history.

Lindroth commissioned British artist Aldous Bertram to transform her nondescript pied-à-terre.
The trompe l'oeil paintings by Bertram, such as the scrolls that frame the original Addison Mizner windows, help break up the large expanses of wall.
The home was a bare box when Lindroth moved in.
Many of the furnishings are sold through her nearby store, Lindroth Design. Vintage Bielecky Brothers wicker chairs were found at the Church Mouse, a beloved local resale shop. "Palm Beach Revisited" collages by Lindroth's friend Jean-Charles de Ravenel hang from a picture rail inside a painted faux frame.
Rococo faux plasterwork makes the entrance door grand.
A custom cabinet provides architectural presence while also serving as a hospitable bar. The tulipieres and oversize ginger jars are from F.S. Henemader. Bertram embellished the mirrored niches with trompe l'oeil renderings of plasterwork from the historic English manor Claydon House.
The hallway is sheathed in Quadrille's Rio wallpaper, and a vintage settee's cushions are in Schumacher's Beckford.
A portrait of Lindroth's mother holding her dog, Ribbons, hangs over the master bed.
Walls in Benjamin Moore's Clearlake are overlaid with a white-palm motif. A vintage chaise with cushions in a Schumacher cotton rests atop a Stark leopard-print carpet. "It feels very C.Z. Guest in Palm Beach," Lindroth says.
In daughter Eliza's room, walls in Benjamin Moore's Salmon Peach contrast with curtains in a green Norbar Fabrics linen and a Dash & Albert rug.
