2026 is shaping up to be a busy year for Anne Hathaway. Not only is the actress starring in five major films this year—including, of course, Devil Wears Prada 2—but she also announced that she is pregnant with her third child. On Friday, June 19, the Princess Diaries star posted an adorable video of her cradling her bump in front of a wooden fireplace.
Yes, major congratulations are due to Hathaway and her husband, Adam Schulman— however, we couldn’t also help but wonder whether her pregnancy announcement gave us a glimpse into her interior design style. I mean, let’s be honest: At House Beautiful, getting glimpses of the rich and famous’ spaces is kind of our thing.
The truth? Yes and no. Over the years, Hathaway has owned a handful of properties, including a few apartments in New York, as well as an estate in Westport, Connecticut. In 2019, the Academy Award-winning actress purchased a property in California previously owned by Yves Saint Laurent and Wes Anderson. Reimagined by Studio Shamshiri, the chalet-style home seems to be where Hathaway and her family currently reside—and it looks a lot different from the space seen on her Instagram.
Whether it is or isn’t one of her star-studded spaces, you have to admit this interior feels so Hathaway-coded. As pictures of her real estate portfolio prove, she loves the look of rustic wood. While her California property features a wood-clad living room, the star’s former Connecticut home boasts pretty millwork. Several of her homes might seem a tad rustic, but Hathway’s old Manhattan loft reportedly had a neoclassical flair. Translation: This Instagram backdrop’s intricate millwork and stone fireplace surround seem right at home with her chameleon-like style. Meanwhile, the moulding seen in the reflection, as well as the small-scale artworks, has a similar tension between cool and classic.
Oh, and did you notice the crystals? While Hathaway keeps much of her personal life private, she did thank her inner circle for “books, cards, chocolates, and crystals” when she turned 37 back in 2019. It only seems fitting that she’d pose somewhere with a fireplace full of crystals.
Whether she secretly snatched up a new property or is just posing somewhere chic, one thing’s for sure: She’s going to welcome her new bundle of joy to a home full of warmth, character, and good style.
