Known for creating fictional interiors that feel impossibly cozy with an ever-so-slight coastal sensibility, the Nancy Meyers aesthetic has become one of the most popular decor trends, blurring the line between movie sets and real-life homes. We’ve seen plenty of spaces embrace powder blue palettes and Pashmina throws to capture the look, but if you’re searching for fresh inspiration, Meyers herself just offered up the ultimate source: her own office.
The writer, producer, and director triple threat recently shared a snap of her home office to Instagram, and fans were immediately inspired by her creative space. One writes, “Obsessed with this room,” while another couldn’t help but reference Meyers’s beloved sets, writing, “The homes in your movies are so iconic, of course your home looks like this. Gorgeous!”
The carpeted room is awash in creamy white, calling to mind the dreamy sofas in Erica Barry’s living room in Something’s Gotta Give. Dark wood furnishings add a welcome dose of color, contrast, and depth. Meyers’s dark, almost cherry-toned desk is paired with an ergonomic office chair and centered beneath an arched, floor-to-ceiling window framed with custom wainscoting. Overhead, white beamed ceilings feature a crackled finish that lends them a subtle driftwood effect.
The room’s most personal feature, however, may be the white-painted shelves spanning the office’s entire right wall. They’re brimming with family photos, books, and binders containing Meyers’s creative visions—think the Library of Alexandria, if it were devoted entirely to timeless rom-coms. To the left of her desk hangs a framed poster of Carole Lombard in the 1936 romantic comedy Love Before Breakfast. Meyers has often cited Lombard and her films as inspiration for her own work.
