Not all sheds are created equal—trust me. Some are hideous, while others feel like they came out of a fairytale. I spend a lot of time searching for and writing about these structures to make sure we spotlight the ones you can turn into a guest house, an artist studio, a mini library, or even just a durable place to store away your seasonal outdoor gear. And I just found one at Costco that leans more toward a chic “pool house” than a garden storage shed.
Costco's SunVilla Milton Outdoor Suite resembles a "shed of the future," with alternating glass panels that add a bit more glamour than the typical wooden build. They also fill the space with natural light, rather than just having two windows to choose from. At 10 feet by 12 feet, it's just enough space for a chic outdoor room. Turn it into a hangout space, party den, or a place to relax in comfort poolside. And it won't feel the least bit stuffy—if you want to enjoy your outdoor view still, you have no shortage of windows to choose from.
Don't think it's not sturdy just because of the glass panels. The walls are made from shatter-resistant tempered glass for extra durability, and the roof can handle up to 20 pounds per square foot of snow on top. There's an integrated gutter system in the sloped roof for any rainy days, and the sliding doors provide a little extra privacy.
Costco shoppers have used the shed to completely transform their backyard, and praise the "high-quality materials." "The installation took longer than expected, but it was worth the effort," one reviewer wrote. "Excellent outdoor space—office, guest reception, exercise room—endless [options]."
You don't have to use it to entertain, by the way. It could just as easily be a solo retreat. You can work from home with nature surrounding you, or create a private gym for serene morning workouts.
