Not only do you point all your seating toward your coffee table, but it also makes your living room...well, functional. The internet has plenty of options to choose from, but Pike & Main’s Point Cabrillo Coffee Table at Costco is arguably the best one we’ve ever seen.
Most coffee tables are practical or pretty, but seldom both; however, Pike & Main’s version ticks off all the boxes. For starters, it looks good. While rectangular coffee tables can create a rigid and slightly awkward seating plan, chairs, ottomans, and sofas can easily circle the round silhouette. If a coffee table is the center of a living room—which it often is, by the way—this one can lay the foundation for an inviting, conversational layout. Meanwhile, the wood-slatted exterior will fit nicely in both classic and contemporary spaces.
Pike & Main’s coffee table is stylish, but it has more to offer beneath the surface. Literally. One half of the coffee table opens up to reveal a hidden storage compartment, a.k.a. the perfect spot to stow throw blankets, kids’ toys, or extra books. As for the other half? It’s actually a lift-top that provides a taller surface for tackling your to-do list or for placing beverages. Those who live in a small studio apartment could even use this pick as a dining room table. A living room staple that punches above its weight class? Genius.
As smart as the Pike & Main piece is, there are some drawbacks. For starters, Costco sold this coffee table for $500, which is more reasonable than some home decor sales but isn’t exactly cheap. Keyword: Sold. This coffee table apparently is so perfect that it’s officially out of stock! You could wait and hope the coffee table comes back in stock; however, we found a few alternatives on Amazon that are a fraction of the price.
