It should come as no surprise that we turn to the enormous online retailer for the seemingly random, but also quite useful, home essentials that pop into our minds. So, we thought it would be fun to ask editors what their most recent Amazon purchase was, and we were pretty amused by the answers.

"I don't travel that often, but when I do, I like to bring all of my beauty products, and I can't do the trial size bottles because when they get too low in product, I have to just buy another, and then I end up with tons of nearly empty trial size bottles I never end up using. Enter Ries, perhaps the most beautiful pre-labeled 1.7-ounce bottles that are both leak-proof and TSA-approved. Plus, they're refillable (and also labeled, so you will never put facial cleanser in your hair thinking it's shampoo), so I can just use the full-size products I already have. "I recently swapped out my old soap dish for this adorable ceramic flower-shaped one, and I'm in love. My previous generic soap dish was fine, but I didn't care for the fact that it collected water, which I think also played a role in dissolving them too quickly. This new dish has a clever little drainage solution through the stem that lets water flow away, keeping the soap elevated and dry. The data's out, but I feel like my bars are now lasting longer! Also, did I mention that it's absolutely adorable?"
