Best DealDigital Director Blair Donovan had her heart set on an antique area rug to ground her bedroom, but that takes years of searching (and often comes with a high sticker price). This merlot-colored rug from Chris Loves Julia finally fulfilled her wishes.
"I’ve been wanting an antique area rug for my bedroom for years, but I don’t have the means to drop upwards of $10,000," Donovan says. "This Loloi design is the next best thing, though. It has the aged-looking, worn-in aesthetic I want, with a print and coloring that feels comparable to authentic antique styles I’ve been eyeing. It’s fairly thin, but still soft underfoot. Spatially, the 7'6" x 9'6" sizing also fits perfectly against my queen-sized bed—there's ample coverage all around."
When Commerce Editor Jessica Dukes was looking for a dining room rug, her top concern after style was maintenance. She didn't want something that would constantly shed or make the room look smaller. This machine-washable rug from Joanna Gaines's Magnolia Home collaboration was the perfect pick.
"My dining room is pretty large, and the bare wood floor is easy to maintain, but this rug makes the room look pulled together and finished," Dukes says. "It’s a thin rug, but very soft, and this boho style works well with my decor. I love that the denim blue and tan colors take on a teal and peach vibe in the right sunlight. So far, I’ve only vacuumed it, but per the label on the rug, it’s machine washable (cold wash, delicate cycle) if needed."
Associate Shopping Editor Janae McKenzie has wanted one thing in her home for years: a CloudPile rug. "The colors are muted enough for this to read as a true neutral, letting my emerald green sofa from Cozey really stand out," Dunn says. "It’s thick and plush enough not to need a rug pad underneath (though I added one for extra padding), and the craftsmanship in both the pattern and texture is better than any other rug I've ordered online.
