When you live in New York City’s infamously tiny apartments, you get really smart about storage. Many buildings in the city lack generous closet space, so multifunctional furniture is a godsend. I’m a big fan of great dressers and storage ottomans, but I had to share the one storage gem that’s been with me for three years without a scratch on it. It helps that it’s over 20 percent off right now, too.

I used to never accessorize, as I’m usually too tired to dig through drawers for my favorite jewelry and make-up. That all changed when I bought this rotating jewelry armoire off Amazon. It was one of the most important finds for my first city apartment. It’s a full-length mirror, storage shelf, and jewelry cabinet all in one, with a slim profile. The cabinet is easy to tuck into a corner and takes up much less real estate than a vanity table setup.

Here’s how much it can hold by the numbers: 120 earring slots, 78 ring slots (which I use for enamel pins and stud earrings), 24 necklace hooks, three acrylic boxes for makeup brushes, and one bracelet bar. Not to mention the five shelves for extra accessories and the dust-proof storage pockets where I keep my liquid makeup.

This is the best way to hide the clutter. Every home needs a good place to check your outfit before you walk out the door. Keeping all my finishing touches in the same place as my mirror, I’m actually encouraged to add some flair to my outfits. The armoire also comes with three shelves on the back, which is my designated “overflow” section. Random bandanas, extra bonnets, and costume jewelry all live back there, tucked out of sight until I need them again.

It’s freestanding, so you don’t need to worry about mounting it on the wall or it tipping over while in use. When I was living with roommates and wanted to keep my belongings safe, I used the lockable door. By simply turning the included key, I kept all of my jewelry safe while I was out of town.

Even as I’ve moved apartments and changed my furniture, this has been a staple in my home. It keeps my bathroom cabinet from being a mess, and instead of taking over my countertops, it lives in one small space. I wish I’d bought it at its current sale price, so don’t make my same mistake—get it while the price is slashed.
