'I think I have become addicted to decorating, painting in particular. In the past year, I looked at my house and thought it was actually quite boring in terms of the decor,' admits Fearne. 'I’ve tried to be braver, with things like painting ceilings in colour – I’d never considered the ceiling before!'
The 2020 'It' colour, Tranquil Dawn, is a soft, nature-inspired green that reflects a growing desire to understand what it is to be human at a time when advances in technology are making us feel increasingly disconnected from each other and nature.

'Tranquil Dawn is a colour I already have in my house, in the front room and my bedroom,' reveals Fearne. 'Both of these are rooms where I like to relax and feel calm. That feeling of being closer to nature, of bringing the outside in, is one I love, and this colour does that perfectly.
'I want to create inviting spaces at home, where if it’s family who are there or friends are visiting, we can lock eyes, connect and there isn’t a screen to be seen.'

When it comes to 'switching off' from her busy lifestyle, Fearne says that for her, 'that means walking, running, listening to music, painting, baking and drawing – things that are instinctive and bring me joy. It’s so important to make room for joy in our busy lives'.
