John Lewis is giving the traditional Christmas tree a wonderfully eccentric makeover, with six colourful Yetis joining its 2026 collection. Part of the retailer’s Enthusiast trend, these fluffy, wide-eyed characters bring bold colour, oversized silliness and a generous dose of humour to the Christmas tree.
Each Yeti has its own name, personality and backstory, inspired by words associated with wild and wintry weather. Available as £12 baubles or £20 super-soft toys, they are designed to appeal to children and grown-ups alike.
'Character-led decorations like our Yetis bring a lovely sense of playfulness back to the tree,' Cydney Ball, head of Christmas at John Lewis, tells House Beautiful UK. 'They let adults have a bit of fun while creating a magical, storybook feel for kids, turning decorating into an activity the whole family does together.'
The collection includes Flurry, the ice hockey champion; Drizzle, who only ventures outside when it’s raining; Snowball, who lives in a village hall; Tundra, a snowboarding enthusiast; Smirr, an online yoga instructor from the Highlands; and Misty, the most elusive Yeti of them all.
'Our Yeti baubles also double up as fun bag charms, allowing the magic to venture beyond the home and past the festive season,' Cydney continues. 'With a charmingly British sense of humour, they add a wonderfully personal touch too as customers choose the specific characters they are most drawn to and pair different themes together.'
Each Yeti was created by British illustrator Rob Hodgson, whose bold colours and playful storytelling give the collection its distinctive charm.
The wider Enthusiast collection turns childhood memories and cult favourites into playful keepsakes – the characterful Yetis are joined by miniature mixtapes, retro sketch-inspired decorations and singing felt pop-star mice.
