John Lewis has shared a genius trick to stop your baubles from slipping off the branches on your Christmas tree.
In a short Instagram video, John Lewis' Christmas Shop Buyer, Dan Cooper, explains that if you remove the little metal pin at the top of a bauble first it can help to keep it secure on the tree — and fans are amazed.
Dan said: 'A great little tip is to hold onto the cap, pull out the little pin in the top, place that pin over your selected branch and pop the clip back in.'
Hanging baubles (especially those attached to jute string and ribbon) is the easiest part of decorating a Christmas tree, but it seems many of us haven't been maximising the pin to its full potential.
One user wrote: 'I never knew that's what the bauble clip did! Best thing I have learned all year,' while another said, 'The tip about taking the bauble clip out! How have I gone my whole life not knowing that!'
In the video, Dan also shared additional tree trimming secrets, from fluffing up the branches to adding the right tree lights.
