Magnet is offering NHS and key workers the chance to win a £10,000 kitchen makeover of their dreams.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, our homes have become our safe place, and the kitchen especially, whether it's preparing meals, socialising or even working, is the hub of all activity in the home.
Whilst a significant majority of us have been spending all of our time indoors redecorating our home and tackling those home improvement projects on the to-do list, key workers all over the country – who have become the nation’s superheroes – haven’t had the same opportunity.
But now, with the launch of #MyMagnetMakeover, Magnet is offering to take the work out of bringing a dream kitchen to life for key workers.
How to enter
If you're a key worker, you simply need to post a photo of your current kitchen to social media using the hashtag #MyMagnetMakeover, alongside a reason as to why you would love the £10,000 kitchen makeover. You must also include a photo of yourself in your frontline uniform.
Due to the current COVID-19 measures in place, the winning key worker can plan their dream kitchen using Magnet's online Virtual Kitchen Design Service, which offers the choice, expertise and personal support of an in-store visit from comfort of your own sofa.

John Lewis has launched a Virtual Home Design service offering expert advice to help you tackle your new interiors project, free of charge. Book an appointment with a home design stylist, and during a one hour video call you'll discuss your space, inspiration and ideas. The stylist will spend some time pulling together a moodboard, ideas, and a shopping list, sending it directly to you following the call.

The appointments take place on the phone or via video chat with Carpetright’s team of experts offering a dedicated appointment to talk through flooring and design plans, from start to finish, all without leaving the house.

Topology Interiors
Topology, an award winning interior design studio headed up by founder Athina Bluff and senior designer Amy Brandhorst, offer an online interior design service to bring you one step closer to your dream home.
Just send over some photos and measurements of your space and then discuss with a designer from their small, all-female team, the look you want to create via phone, email or video call.
The designer will convert your measurements onto their architectural software and suggest a furniture layout for you. Once you're satisfied with the layout, Topology will start designing, and soon enough you'll get a personalised design plan which will include moodboards, personalised shopping lists with discount codes, 2D or 3D renders, styling tips and more.

Thomas Sanderson
Thomas Sanderson has just resumed its in-house design consultations, but consultants will only attend if they and their household are free from coronavirus symptoms for a minimum of 14 days.
New measures have been introduced for safety and protection, with design consultants equipped with essential protective clothing (gloves, masks and shoe covers, plus hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes). They will also observe social distancing protocols within your home.
The consultant will take rough measurements of your windows, discuss product samples, and give you an indication of price. After your consultation you’ll need a survey appointment to take accurate measurements and check any technical configurations before installation takes place.

C.P. Hart
C.P. Hart's virtual design consultation service brings the choice, expertise and support of an in-store visit into the comfort of your home. You can book a video appointment to plan your dream space with the help of 3D renders and CAD visuals, with designers on hand to discuss new bathroom projects and offer advice on planning.

Ikea
Ikea offers a range of virtual interior design services for every room and space of your home.
• Home Furnishing Advice Service
Choose any room in the home and work with one of Ikea's interior designers to transform your space. You'll have three meetings: the first meeting lasts up to 90 minutes, followed by a 30 minute session, then a final 15 minutes to finalise your plans and purchases.
Have some measurements to hand – ceiling height plus the width and depth of your room – to discuss your needs, priorities and requirements.
Once you're happy with the colours, materials, finishes and storage solutions, your furniture and accessories can be ordered directly online.
Any home furnishing advice service booked at Ikea while special COVID-19 measures are in place, will be FREE to customers.
You can also get specialists design consultations for online wardrobe planning, online kitchen planning, online living room storage solutions and online sofa planning.

Magnet
Whilst Magnet’s physical showrooms are closed, Magnet.co.uk has launched a Virtual Kitchen Design Service enabling dedicated designers to set up work safely from their own homes and take telephone and video consultations with customers who wish to bring their dream kitchens to life.
Choose a preferred time slot, fill in a few contact details and complete a quick quiz on dream styles, shades, shapes and spend. Soon enough you'll be receiving 3D designs over email and viewing designs in a screen-sharing meeting. The bespoke designs will be worked up and door samples can be posted out for you to choose your chosen style and shade.

OKA
There are two types of virtual appointments available at OKA:
• Staging & Styling – no design fee
Interior designers will offer advice on dressing a specific area in a room (be it a dining table, coffee table or hallway). There is no design fee for this kind of consultation.
• One Room Design Service Design – fee: £150 (redeemable with a £2,500 spend)
Perfect if you want to redecorate a study, bedroom, living room or any other area of the home. Provide measurements of existing furniture that you wish to keep.
For both services, photos and measurements of the room is required in order to prepare a visual presentation and shopping list.

Neptune
You can book a free 90-minute virtual consultation with a designer at Neptune where you can discuss ideas and decide on your home's creative direction.
If you decide to go ahead, you'll need to pay the design fee. From here your expert designer will delve into an in-depth design session, considering colour palettes, samples and textiles, and taking measurements. The next step will see your designer create moodboards and sampleboards for each room, plus layouts and a presentation of your project.
Once lockdown is lifted, Neptune will set up and style every single piece in your home.
The entire service – from concepts to the home visit and final room design – costs £300 for the first room, and £200 for each room after that.

All Harvey Jones showrooms are temporarily closed until further notice but they've developed a virtual experience to help you design your bespoke kitchen. Looking to transform a room in your home with paint and wallpaper but struggling to find a colour scheme? Lick's video consultation process is fairly simple. Colour specialist, Tash Bradley, will help you answer any questions plus identify the best colour palette for your space.
