Houseplant lover? Whilst we love tending to and nurturing a plant, we equally love those low maintenance plants that just thrive, with very little effort on our side. If you want to inject a bit of life and greenery into your home with some fuss-free indoor plants, Victorian greenhouse manufacturer, Alitex, reveals its pick of the best indoor plants to care for over the colder months.

Also known as Schlumbergera Truncate, you might expect the Christmas cactus to only bloom red flowers but you can actually get a full spectrum of colours with this particular plant. From yellow and pink to orange, purple and white, having this plant in your home will immediately brighten and uplift any space.

Otherwise known as the Dracaena Trifasciata, a snake plant is another one of the easiest winter houseplants to grow, according to the experts. 'Like all succulents, it can survive without intervention for a long time and copes very well with low light levels. It's also a fantastic air purifier!'
