A new genius viral hack has revealed how to brilliantly restore a rusty iron using a pack of paracetamol costing just 29p.
Over on the popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one woman posted an innovative way to bring back her iron's shine — and it's both cheap and incredibly easy for everyone to give a go.
Sharing before and after pictures, Laura Siârn Outhart from North Yorkshire, said: 'A 29p pack of paracetamol saved me from buying a new iron. I read somewhere that a paracetamol rubbed onto the iron will make it almost like new again.
'This took two paracetamols and it worked better when the iron was hot and not just warm. I was amazed how well it worked and how much money it saved me.'
Branded as a 'great life hack', the post — which has now been shared over 9,000 times — saw many others comment on how clever it is. One user said: 'I can't believe it! I've been trying all sorts to clean my iron and just done it in two minutes.' Another commented: 'It worked for me too! I was so close to buying a new iron!'
In order to clean the iron with paracetamol simply...
- Heat up your iron so that it is hot.
- Take a paracetamol with tweezers and rub it on the rusty parts.
- Once you have finished, use a cloth to wipe it clean. Make sure to be careful as the iron will still be hot.
- Afterwards you'll notice that the iron is sparkling clean!
This isn't the first time this genius hack has been shared, either: for years, many others have also been turning to the pain relief tablets to help with cleaning their iron.
