These are the must-have toys for Christmas 2018, according to Argos

Argos has announced its highly-anticipated list of the most popular toys to buy children this Christmas.

The retailer declared 2018 the ‘year of the unicorn', with four must-have toys based on the mythical steeds featuring on its list, including the My Lovely Unicorn Electric Ride-On and the Poopsie Unicorn Surprise.

Argos’ selection promises to bring fantasy, technology, construction and discovery to children’s wish lists this Christmas. The 13 toys, which are available from July (except the LEGO City Arctic Mobile Exoploration Base, available now), are priced from £14.99 for LOL Surprise Under Wraps to £229.99 for My Lovely Unicorn 12V Power Ride On.

Among the list is Fingerlings, which makes a return appearance for 2018, along with TV stars Paw Patrol and a brand-new Rescue Fire Truck Playset.

‘This year’s list is arguably our most exciting and eclectic to date,’ said Juliet Ward, head of toy buying at Argos. ‘The list shows how toys are continuing to progress with interactive items among the most popular.

‘We’re also seeing the modernisation of more classic and traditional toys resulting in a varied and extensive list – everything from Boxer, the mischievous robot, to the Tiny Treasures Sleepy Doll, which looks and smells just like a real baby.’
