NHS and social care workers can get free emergency home repairs as a thank you for being at the frontline of the coronavirus (COVID-19) response.
Home repairs and improvements business HomeServe is offering the free service as part of a £1 million helping hand for Britain’s healthcare heroes, which will cover the cost of up to 10,000 emergency repairs across the UK – and you don't need to be an existing HomeServe customer either.
Free emergency repairs – including plumbing, drainage and heating – will be provided by HomeServe’s network of trusted and qualified engineers, typically on the same day.
As NHS and social care workers focus on the crucial work they are doing to combat the coronavirus pandemic, HomeServe is hoping to take away any stress and disruption caused by unexpected home emergencies, which could become an additional source of disruption and anxiety when it’s needed the least.
'All of our NHS and social care workers have shown enormous bravery and dedication in their response to the coronavirus crisis,' says Richard Harpin, founder and CEO of HomeServe. 'Everyone at HomeServe wants to do their bit to ensure that NHS and social care workers have working plumbing and hot water at home at the end of an exhausting shift, whether they are HomeServe customers or not.
