This summer, we’re upgrading our pool float game. We’re well past the unicorn floats and inner tubes from the bargain bin. Our pool accessories can reflect our elevated style without being too pretentious. I set out to find a pool float that struck that balance, and I found an inflatable swim-up bar that made me the most popular person at the pool.

If you buy one thing for pool days this summer, go with Funboy’s Floating Cabana Bar.

This pool float comes with four cup holders and two areas you can fill with ice as a makeshift cooler. If you don’t want to use the plate areas as coolers, you can place your favorite pool snacks there. I used the cup holders to hold piña coladas and spritzes, and then snacked on chips and guac, all while floating in the refreshing pool water. I normally have to visit a resort for that kind of swim-up bar convenience, so the fact that it’s on sale for under $50 is a mind-blowing deal.

The fringed awning totally elevates the look. You can secure it to the support beams, so it provides shade and major style. My friends and I crowded around the float in the pool, gossiping like we were catching up at our favorite bar. It holds everything securely, so I could enjoy it without spilling my drink or dropping chips in the pool. And when our pool fun was done, it was super easy to deflate and clean with just a disinfectant wipe.

You don’t need to have a pool to enjoy it. It’s perfect for use on the sand at the beach or even at a park picnic. The cabana striping is such a playful, summery design; it fits anywhere. It’s available in five different colors, all with that stripe-and-fringe combo. As a heads-up, this swim-up bar takes a little while to inflate, so don’t wait until everyone is in the car to blow it up. It’s worth it though: It stays inflated all day, so you won’t have to worry about it falling apart on you.

If you want to keep a low profile, this float is not for you. I was asked every few minutes where I got it, and if folks could share in the cooler spoils. It’s party central on the water, and I’d buy it over and over again. I rounded up a few more classy, grown-up pool floats below, so you can have the coolest summer possible.
