10 min readWhen it was time to decorate my apartment, I wanted to splurge on some items and save on others. The splurge pieces were a nice and comfortable accent chair, a set of vintage dining chairs from Denmark, and a vintage dresser. The pieces I wanted to save on included a shoe rack by the entryway, a floor lamp, and window treatments for my second floor. We have a lot of windows, and I didn't want to spend my entire design savings only on shades and drapes. To stay within budget, I went the more economical route for my two bedrooms and office, and tried out TWOPAGES.
The brand had been on my radar for a while since many home influencers rave about TWOPAGES for its stylish selections, high quality, and affordable price points. After receiving swatches and liking them, I bought three different shade styles and a set of drapes, spending around $600, give or take. You can also find some of the styles on Amazon, but I find that the selections and size options are more abundant on TWOPAGES's own website.
My colleague Alyssa Longobucco is also an avid TWOPAGES fan and will be spilling the details on her experience with their Roman shades, as well as the brand's more bespoke offerings, like thermal lining. Ahead, we’ll share what we liked and didn't like about the pieces we got and how our experience with Twopages went.

What Is TWOPAGES?
TWOPAGES is a DTC brand that sells a variety of drapes, blinds, shades, and hardware. There are a bevy of options to choose from, including hundreds of fabric colors and patterns, numerous fabric options—including linen, cotton, velvet, and polyester—and a variety of different "collections" that combine all the offerings.
For example, the "Kyla Collection" features curtains made of 10 percent linen and 90 percent polyester, while the "Patti Collection" drapes are crafted from 100 percent Belgian flax linen. In addition, the brand offers made-to-measure curtains and motorized shades.
“I really love all the fabric options the brand offers,” says Longobucco, who has several linen curtains from the line in her home, as well as their woven bamboo shades. “It’s so easy to find a style that works for your space, and the designer collaborations offer a little something extra if you’re looking to bring a pop of pattern to your space.
Price-wise, TWOPAGES is a mid-range brand that offers a good balance between affordability and quality. To sum it up, it's more expensive than IKEA, but not a splurge compared to shopping at The Shade Store.
Is TWOPAGES Good Quality?
TWOPAGES offers Belgian flax, faux linen, and polyester blends that all feel nice and weighty. While you won’t get some of the same bespoke offerings you would with fully custom drapery (for instance, they don’t offer edge trim yet), you are still investing in window treatments that will last for years to come.
The swatch booklets—which ship so fast, by the way—match the end product to a tee, and there are plenty of customization options to choose from. “TWOPAGES really caters to homeowners with a design eye, and their customization options prove it,” says Longobucco. “I love that you can choose your pleat style, exact width, and more. It makes it much easier to get that high-end designer look at a budget-friendly price.”
TWOPAGES Drapes Delivery and Setup
When I was looking for drapes for my bedroom, I ordered swatches from Pottery Barn, Nordic Knots, and TWOPAGES. TWOPAGES offers five free individual swatches, or you can buy fabric booklets containing all the colors for a specific collection. I went with the latter because I'm indecisive and wanted to see all the color options to find the right hue that complements my bedroom walls. My husband and I had limewashed our room in a grapefruit-terracotta color, so I wanted to make the room feel a bit more moody with dark brown drapes. The drapes arrived quickly and were packaged neatly in individual bags, broken up by window “pair.”
My colleague Alyssa chose to get her drapes “memory shape trained,” which essentially means they’ll remain crisply pleated long after they’re hung. “It’s usually a feature only offered through high-end drapery workrooms, so I was super impressed that TWOPAGES offers that to customers,” she said. “They looked amazing after being hung—I didn’t have to break out a steamer or iron—and they’ve remained in shape despite constant use since.”
How the Drapes Look IRL
After selecting my desired width and length, I ordered two panels of the Birkin Velvet Curtains in "Chocolate" ($240). I chose to get the matching tiebacks for an extra $3, but in hindsight, I barely use them. I could have done without them, and I prefer how they look when not tied up.
For the curtain rod, I ordered one from Pottery Barn and curtain rings from Amazon. Alyssa, however, has ordered curtain rods and rings through TWOPAGES as well, and she loves them.
Once the drapes arrived, my husband took care of the installation from start to finish, as I am not handy. The hardest part, it seemed, was mounting the curtain rod to the wall; once that part was done, you simply inserted the plastic hooks into the drapes and then hung them on your curtain rings—TWOPAGES provides instructions with your order, but you can watch a step-by-step video online too, just in case you're nervous about putting up the drapes yourself.
The velvet material is so soft, and the color added a moodiness to our pink room, which I love. When I pull them closed, the room is drenched in total darkness, which is great for those who love to sleep in. I was a little worried the velvet would attract dust, as the material is notorious for that, but the dust is barely noticeable. (I don't let my dog, who sheds a lot, into our bedroom, so I think it helps control the amount of animal dander and hair floating around, too.) Everyone visiting our house always compliments the drapes, and they certainly don't look "cheap," which was my number-one concern. Overall, I am so happy with how they look, and I know I'll be keeping these for a long, long time.
TWOPAGES Special Features: Thermal Lining
For her home, my colleague Alyssa got the Liz linen shades in a breezy ocean blue for her son’s room, pairing them with the brand’s Lay bamboo shades for a layered look. Instead of leaving them unlined or opting for something more typical, like a privacy lining, she chose TWOPAGES’ “thermal” lining, which boasts a 250 gsm microfiber 3-pass coated white backing that can help control the temperature in a space to a noticeable degree.
“We live in a 200-year-old house which, as you might guess, does not have central air,” says Longobucco. “I originally bought the bamboo shades for my son’s room, which is on the sunniest side of our house, and realized after our first summer that they weren’t strong enough to hold their own against blasting sunlight and our old, leaky windows. I figured the thermal lining was worth a shot, and I have been so impressed by how much cooler the room felt since hanging them, especially during a hot, hot August.”
Drapes Cleaning and Maintenance
I've had the drapes for over two years, and they still look brand new and clean. They haven't attracted as much dust as I thought. Our bedroom faces southwest, and the sun has not discolored the drapery. One of the main reasons I was open to buying velvet drapes was that you can actually throw them in your washing machine! The panels can go in a handwash cycle in cold water. I don't think you can tumble-dry them, so they'll have to hang dry somewhere—most likely on a clothes drying rack. You could also get these dry-cleaned if you don't have an in-unit washer. The drapes are so low-maintenance—I love it.
“Since mine are hung in the room of a five-year-old—which also happens to be my dog’s favorite place to chill—they pretty much don’t stand a chance at staying clean,” adds Longobucco. “Luckily though, any stain or fur that has gotten on them has been able to be quickly removed; I haven’t even had to wash them yet!”
TWOPAGES Roman Shades Delivery and Setup
I ordered three types of Roman shades: three with cords and one without. I got two of the Jawara Linen Cotton Roman shades ($87) for our guest bedroom with two windows, the Patti Belgian Linen Roman shades ($137.99) for our bedroom, and the Rae Natural Pure Bamboo Woven Shades Series Z ($92).
With the shades, you can customize them however you like, from adding a privacy lining to selecting your cord style to adding a motorized feature. My husband and I wanted to keep it simple, so going for some shades with cords and some without worked for us. Ordering swatch books for everything was helpful because we knew what the material would look like, ensuring there would be no surprises.
We did an inside mount for all the shades, and there were only six steps to follow, so installation took around 30 minutes. Depending on what Roman shades you get, you will find further installation instructions online on each product page. This gives you a good idea of the difficulty level and whether it's something you want to take on or hire someone from Taskrabbit to do for you.
The setup was mostly seamless, and the only snag we ran into was with the metal bead chains for the Jawara Linen Cotton Roman shades. For some reason, the chains were really long, so we had to cut some of the metal balls off to make them work for our windows. The metal bead chain sometimes gets stuck in the plastic tension device as we're rolling the shades up—I think we might've gotten defective ones, but it doesn't bother us enough to submit a complaint and reorder everything. With a little jiggle, the chain can run through the tension device, though this mini maneuver is something I hope our guests can figure out. I'd give the metal bead chain and plastic tension parts a 2 out of 5 in terms of quality.
How the Roman Shades Look IRL
The shades aren't the most luxurious ones I've ever seen, but they also don't look like they were bought from Amazon. The fabric has no tears, pills, or loose threads, so I am really happy with it. The Patti Belgian Linen cordless shades come with a small pole that you can hook onto a plastic part at the back of the shade to pull it down if you're not tall enough to reach them. At night, I'll pull down the shades versus closing the curtains because, in the morning, the shade filters the light beautifully, letting it gently stream in to wake me up. To send it back up, you just give the shade a little tug downwards so there's some tension, and it'll start to snap back up. One con I noticed here was that the folds sometimes don't layer on top of one another perfectly, so once the shade is rolled up, you have to smooth out the folds again slightly.
Alyssa loves the bamboo style she has throughout her home, noting that it goes toe-to-toe with higher-end brands. “I have purchased my fair share of pricier Roman shades in the past, and these natural fiber ones are the nicest I have had yet. I love them so much, in fact, that I’ve bought them for every bedroom in my house.”
My husband selected bamboo shades for our shared office because he wanted a minimalist Japandi vibe and a soothing color palette. I've never had wooden shades, and these add nice texture and a darker color to our limewashed oat milk-colored walls. The bamboo shades come with string cords and are very easy to operate: you pull right when you want to lower the shade, and pull up and to the left to roll it up. We mainly roll it down at night for privacy, but the bamboo slits also let in a soft amount of light during the daytime if you have it down. I love these shades a lot!
The Jawara Linen Cotton Roman shades in the guest bedroom get the job done, but I wouldn't say they are my favorite, just because we had some issues with their quality control. Aside from that, they filter light wonderfully, and for $87 per shade, I'm still satisfied. They're definitely good shades for secondary windows, like guest rooms, basement windows, laundry rooms, etc., where you don't have to make a grand statement.
Roman Shades Cleaning and Maintenance
All of the shades I bought say "wipe clean" in terms of care and maintenance, so it doesn't seem like you can machine-wash them, which makes sense. We do run a duster over them, but since we bought these two months ago, I have not noticed any major dust bunnies or dirt clinging to any of the three shade styles I bought. Time will tell if the linen or bamboo color deteriorates, but everything is holding up well!
Does TWOPAGES Live Up to the Influencer Hype?
It does live up to the hype! I think for homeowners looking for a brand that can be the middle ground between luxury window treatments and super cheap, crappy window treatments, TWOPAGES is that brand. The shades and drapes look great in my home, and our credit card didn't run into the thousands while shopping for them.
My only gripe about TWOPAGES is that they offer too many options, which is a bad thing for an indecisive shopper like myself. Still, if I need more shades and drapes in the future, I'd get them again from TWOPAGES because, overall, I was extremely pleased with all the pieces I chose.
