Swan Decor Is Trending on TikTok, and It’s More Sophisticated Than You Think—These 14 Pieces Prove It

You need a swan wine bib.

As someone who is chronically online and loves both home decor and fashion, my TikTok and Instagram feeds are naturally tailored to these interests. Lately, my algorithm has been serving me swan decor, and I have to say, I am 100 percent on board with this. I was not an adopter of tomato girl summer, the sardine aesthetic, or even jam girl summer, but something about these graceful aquatic birds is calling to me. I need at least one swan piece in my apartment. The motif has been around in the design world for ages, but the online discourse around it and the resurgence of products, both vintage and new, is bustling.

One reason everyone is talking about swans? Nostalgia. "Swans evoke Swan Lake, storybooks, garden parties, and the kind of heirloom decor many of us grew up with. As younger audiences rediscover grandmillennial and thrifting culture, swans feel both sentimental and subversive against years of minimalism. They photograph beautifully, which certainly helps in a visual, scroll-driven world," says designer Megan Schultz of Stone House Collective. "I think it ties into the return of granny chic and maximalism," says Liad Schwartz of Interiors by Liad. "People are embracing nostalgic decorative pieces again, and swan decor fits right into that. It also aligns with the cozy, layered interiors people are drawn to online, like Kendall Jenner’s mountain house."

According to designer and home stager Francesca Grace, swans have endured in interiors because "they capture a quiet balance of delicacy and strength. Their sculptural silhouette feels romantic yet composed, which gives them lasting appeal." You can find swans everywhere, from wallpaper and textiles to art and tabletop. "Swans are appearing more frequently in ceramics, tabletop pieces, lighting, and art, but in a much more refined way than in the past," adds Grace, who cites this 1stDibs Swan find as one of her favorite pieces. Meanwhile, Schwartz says, "What’s interesting is that the trend spans both high and low, from collectible vintage glass pieces to more accessible tabletop accessories."

For coasters that look thrifted at the flea market or your nearest antique shop, add these to your cart. They are inspired by vintage Delft tile traditions and have a reactive glaze with an authentic crackle finish.

This hand-painted platter can be used to hold treats or hung on the wall, depending on your mood. It's fun but not overly playful, making it an easy fit for any space.

"My biggest tip [for decorating with the swan motif] is to treat a swan like a sculptural object, not a theme. Use one meaningful piece, preferably in a beautiful material like ceramic, brass, or carved wood, and let it stand on its own. When a swan is styled intentionally and layered among more architectural elements, it feels collected and refined rather than decorative or kitschy," Grace says.
