A 3,000 year old festival, Lunar New Year is a lunisolar holiday celebrated by Asian cultures and communities all over the world. Falling this year on 29th January, the two-week celebration involves feasting, fireworks, parties and parades with loved ones. Each year is attributed to one of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac: while last year hailed the year of the dragon, 2025 is dedicated to the snake.

According to the lore, those born in the year of the snake are resilient and courageous, with strong interpersonal skills and keen insight owing to their intelligence. Furthermore, the snake is considered to be the most tenacious of the zodiac animals, making those same people enigmatic, intimidating, and elusive.

When it came to curating this week's edit, we wanted to channel these traits and honour this exciting festival into high street products that feel strong and sophisticated, as well as a little dark and mysterious. Slither on down to shop our serpentine selection now, and incorporate some snake motifs into your home for regular inspiration.
