Is Halloween here? Nope, it’s just the season 2 premiere of Wednesday
Last series, we saw ‘little viper’ Wednesday Addams packed off to Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts and supernatural misfits. Now, our favourite gloomy protagonist is back – Part 1 of Season 2 lands on Netflix on 6th August 2025, with Part 2 following on 3rd September — and so are Nevermore’s deliciously dark interiors.
With blood-red chairs, secret passageways and gargoyles looming overhead, the sets on Wednesday are a true Gothic delight. From the theatrical opulence of Principal Dort’s office to Morticia’s sumptuous renovation of Rotwood Cottage, the second season takes this macabre style to a whole other level.
And yet, for all its monochromatic glamour, Nevermore’s interiors have always been full of contrast. Take the joyfully maximalist decor of Enid Sinclair (Wednesday’s overly cheerful roommate), or the flower-laden pink paradise that was once home to Miss Thornhill. The sets found in this series accommodate all kinds of misfits – whether they lean more towards gothcore or dopamine decor.

When it comes to decorating, are you more drawn to Enid’s brightly coloured decor or Wednesday’s minimalist macabre look? Perhaps, like the show itself, you like to embrace a mix of the two. Either way, we’ve picked out a few killer items to help inspire you on your decorating journey…
A new set we encounter this season is Rotwood Cottage, the former residence of Miss Thornhill (immaculately played by Christina Ricci). Much to the Addams’ horror, the cottage is decorated in bright pink shades and floral patterns. To recreate this abundance of flora in your own home, we recommend this pink Cath Kidston chair from Next.
Naturally, when Morticia Addams gets her hands on Rotwood Cottage, she decides it’s time to redecorate. Here, fringed lampshades, red velvet cushion and ornately carved side tables are given centre stage. Though we don’t recommend copying all of Morticia’s interior styling (remember poor Uncle Vasco!), we think a luxe sofa in blood-red is a great place to start.
Like last season, Wednesday’s accommodation is a dorm of two halves. On the one side, you have Wednesday’s minimalist set-up (think dark wood, stark furniture and an old vintage typewriter). On the other is Eden’s brightly coloured chaos (picture neon ceiling drapes, dream catchers, and a legion of stuffed animals). For an item that appeals to both Enid’s love of pink and Wednesday’s obsession with the macabre, we recommend this bubblegum-pink skull lamp from TK Maxx.
Is it just us, or have the colours in Enid’s side of the room become even brighter this season? The standout shade has to be this bold fuchsia pink. Found on a chest of drawers and many a ceiling drape, why not invest in a similar colour with this pom-pom edged cushion?
Nevermore is known for its gothic sculptures and ornate stone carvings. Memorably, the quad’s gargoyles in season one represented each of the different groups of children in the school. As crows play a particularly important role in season two, we recommend this gothic crow ornament from Etsy. The term ‘a murder of crows’ has never felt more apt.
Wednesday’s start-of-term gift for Eden is not everybody’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying that ceramic dolls are a vital motif in season two. For a more palatable doll, why not invest in this Monster High x Wednesday doll? It’s a fun talking point, and unlike the doll Wednesday gives Enid, its locks aren’t made from real human hair.
From velvet to leather to dark-hued brocade, the key to nailing the gothic look is getting the materials right. Another key fabric found in Wednesday is discoloured lace. Add it to a side cabinet, table, or window frame for a dreamy, vintage look.
If, like Wednesday, you’re drawn towards the darker parts of life, your choice of lighting becomes all the more important. To set the perfect scene at home, we recommend low-wattage bulbs and dimmable lights. A red-coloured chandelier or fringed pendant can help give your interiors a moody, gothic glow.
In this season of Wednesday, we’re able to explore a new part of Nevermore: Iago Tower. Though the decor is minimal, we’re taking inspiration from its fabulous skeleton wall clock. Try this one from Perch & Parrow for a classic vintage look.
