Monty Don's beautiful herb garden has been voted one of the UK's most popular garden photos on Instagram, based on new research conducted by Origin Global.
The study found that the garden writer and horticultural expert's famous Herefordshire garden — which BBC Gardeners' World viewers regularly catch a glimpse of on the show – is one of the most-liked on the photo sharing app.
The study, conducted between January and June this year, assessed profiles of famous gardens, gardening brands and garden influencers, as well as analysing popular hashtags such as #BritishGarden and #UKGardens.
Known as Longmeadow garden, Monty's glorious outdoor space features a potting shed, herb garden, vegetable patches, a heated greenhouse and a lovely outdoor dining area surrounded by box maze-like hedges. It topped the list with over 25,000 likes on a single upload.
Other gardens in the top 10 include a stunning Victorian garden in Somerset, Ben Pentreath and Charlie McCormick's Dorset garden, and three National Trust properties.
'We asked homeowners about the importance of a room with a view and over half said their favourite room had the best view of the garden. Every year we help thousands of people make the most of the views from their homes, so were interested to find out which type of gardens they enjoyed the most,' Ben Brocklesby, Director at Origin explained about the results.
'From the findings, it’s clear that traditionally English cottage gardens still beat the competition when it comes to our favourite style of garden.'
