Medals have been awarded at the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 2019, but who has won Gold and Best in Show? The impressive five-day floral spectacle is taking place in the grounds of Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, and ends on Sunday 9th June.
There are Show Gardens, Mindfulness Gardens, BBC Regional Gardens and Feature Gardens, of which the latter two are not judged.
The Wedgwood Garden designed by emerging designer and RHS Ambassador, Jamie Butterworth, won not only a Gold Medal, but was also crowned Best Show Garden and awarded Best Construction. Take a look at all the gardens at Chatsworth this year and the winning designs...

The Wedgwood Garden has been inspired by the vision of John Wedgwood, the founder of the Royal Horticultural Society, to use the power of horticulture and plants to connect people and unite communities. With a simple, scaled back garden design, the colour palette references Wedgwood’s Jasperware of rich sky blue, lush greens and deep crimson.

Designed to be a calming and inspiring space for the public to ‘lose themselves in the present moment’, the inspiration for this garden comes from the physical and mental health benefits of volunteer gardening and the opportunities that it can create.

This garden represents a journey undertaken by a person who has experienced a trauma in their life, such as illness or bereavement. While the initial trauma is symbolised by a tunnel as you enter the garden, as you travel along the raised walkway, you turn a corner into a lighter, brighter place, which represents the concept of life getting better.

The definition of Eutierria is of being 'at one with nature', and this is a garden where the public can reconnect with the natural world.

Space Within is a biophilic meditation space in which to escape the hectic outside world. A central area provides a symbolic place that offers and mirrors the healing, tranquil inner space of meditation, while a mini forest provides tree canopy and references Shinrin Yoku – forest bathing, the therapy of being among trees to promote wellbeing.

Inspired by the abstract art of Piet Mondrian, this garden is an expression of the ‘perfect’ herb garden and an attempt to create a space that takes the humble herb garden to a new level, celebrating the inherent peacefulness in such an intimate space.

The RHS Garden for Wildlife showcases different habitats for invertebrates, birds, reptiles, amphibians and small animals that can easily be incorporated into any domestic garden. ‘Add-on’ features include bee hotels, bug houses, bird boxes, baths, feeders and compost heaps.

This garden commemorates the Minnie Pit mining disaster at Podmore Colliery, North Staffordshire, on 12 January 1918, at which 156 men and boys lost their lives. This year marks the centenary of the last body to be removed from the mine following the disaster, and the space imagines what the typical miner’s garden plot might have been like.

This garden celebrates the brewing industry, part of the unique heritage of Burton-upon-Trent. The front of the garden represents a brewery yard, where private railways crossed public roads in the town.

This garden explores the enduring relationship between Sheffield and the bordering Peak District. Historically, the Peaks provided iron-ore, gritstone and water that were used to power the steel industry. Today the area’s natural beauty is an escape for many from the pressures of modern life.
