Good news: Dick and Angel Strawbridge will return to our screens with the eighth season of Escape to the Chateau on Sunday 24th October at 8pm on Channel 4.
The eight-part series, filmed by a small crew at their fairy tale home, will be jam-packed with new family adventures, renovation projects, big reveals, and an enchanting Christmas special in December. If you've been following Dick, Angel, Arthur and Dorothy restore their majestic 45-bedroom French castle in France's Pays de la Loire, you'll love what the new season has in store.
With weddings and large-scale events on hold for a second year, this new season will follow the TV duo as they tackle the castle's grand exterior. Their biggest project to date, the couple will restore the roof, outside walls and create a special stargazing space in their neglected attic.
Other highlights to look forward to include the Chateau welcoming their first guests in the Walled Garden, as well as Arthur and Dorothy throwing a garden party complete with giant games, English afternoon tea and fun fact-finding quizzes.
'It's hard to believe we started our journey over six years ago,' Dick and Angel say. 'The Chateau has changed and evolved, and we have loved every moment, every challenge! We feel very humble to have the opportunity to continue sharing our adventures. 2021 has been an interesting and unusual year.
'With weddings and events still on hold, we've been busy tackling that long "to do" list and spending quality time together as a family. There's been plenty of surprises along the way and we can't wait to share the next part of our journey with you.'
Dick and Angel purchased their beautiful 19th century Château in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France, almost six years ago for just £280,000. With heaps of TLC, the couple have restored it to its former glory, hooking the nation with their incredible journey.
Now, the eighth season of their much-loved show is on the horizon for the famous TV couple – we can't wait to tune in!
