The AA's annual B&B Awards have recognised the nation's most remarkable B&Bs, from a cosy lodge to a luxury farmhouse.
A handful of establishments have been chosen based on their impeccable service and superb offering. Here are this year's prize-winners.
Winner: Old Town Hall – Leyburn, North Yorkshire
This luxury B&B is set in stunning countryside between Leyburn and Aysgarth Falls. It has three bedrooms, which are described as 'charming, and simply yet elegantly decorated'.
Winner: Rhedyn Guest House – Builth Wells, Powys
'Beautiful scenery all around, lovely hosts offer a truly welcoming feel,' says The AA. There are five bedrooms and dinner is bookable at the time of reservation.
Winner: Causeway Lodge – Bushmills, County Antrim
This contemporary accommodation is loved for its great location near the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge and the famous Bushmills Distillery.
Winner: Fosse Farmhouse – Castle Combe, Wiltshire
This 18th-century farmhouse offers just two rooms, and is in a 'lovely rural setting for a B&B with lots of original character and charm'. Both dinner and afternoon tea are are on offer to guests.
Winner: Cruikshanks Boutique B&B – Isle of Arran
This three-bed B&B boasts stunning views over the Firth of Clyde towards the Ayrshire and Dumfriesshire coasts.
Winner: Long Melford Swan – Long Melford, Suffolk
This Sudbury restaurant has been praised for its 'confident modern cooking' as well as its innovative menu that includes a range of locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. The Duck Deli, full of East Anglian artisan produce, is also worth a visit.
Winner: The Temple Bar Inn – Hereford, Herefordshire
This small inn, located in the village of Ewyas Harold, was refurbished by the owners, with the help of local craftsmen. It is now said to be the hub of the community.
Winner: The 25 Boutique B&B – Torquay, Devon
Located within easy walking distance of Torquay's Abbey Sands beach, the six rooms and suites are loved for their individual design.
