Visiting a museum is an integral feature of any city break. It's a great opportunity to learn about the history and culture of wherever you're visiting and the displays of artefacts are often set in beautiful, ornate buildings which are worth a visit in themselves.
But, with so many famous and coveted museums across the world, and cities often being home to at least two or three, which are the ones truly worth visiting?
TripAdvisor has revealed the results of its annual Travellers' Choice Awards for Museums, the winners were determined using an algorithm which monitored the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for museums across the world over the past year.

The top-rated museum – a former railway station found on the banks of the River Seine – is home to a wealth of impressionist art from 1848 to 1914 as well as other collections.
