If you love nothing more than taking a walk through an enchanting forest, then listen up. The UK’s most Instagrammed forests have been revealed, providing you with lots of inspiration for your countryside ramblings.
The data was compiled by Away Resorts, operator of six holiday resorts based in the UK, by analysing hashtags used on Instagram. They then ranked the forests in order of popularity from one to 25.
The New Forest was found to be the most Instagrammed forest in the UK, with a combined total of 452,854 uses of the hashtags #thenewforest and #newforest. In second place is The Royal Forest of Dean, with 102,955 uses of #forestofdean, while Robin Hood’s favourite Sherwood Forest garnered 98,672 uses of #sherwoodforest.
Only one of Scotland’s forests, Galloway Forest, made it into the top 25, while two forests in Northern Ireland made the list, Tollymore Forest Park and Castlewellan Forest Park.
