The annual UK Heritage Awards, held by Visit Heritage, awards the very best in Britain's heritage sites across the country. While many of the awards highlights venues perfect for days out exploring, one focuses on the most special day of all – a wedding day.
If a wedding in a beautifully grand, period building, steeped in heritage and history is your idea of a perfect wedding, then this award is for you.
The Best Heritage Wedding Venue was chosen from a shortlist of six, which included:
- Broughton Hall, Yorkshire
- Adlington Hall, Cheshire
- Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire
- Askham Hall, Cumbria
- St Giles House, Wimborne
- Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland
The winner was Adlington Hall in Cheshire which was chosen for its stunning scenery and top notch team of wedding coordinators.
Visit Heritage said: 'One of the most beautiful country homes in England, Adlington Hall reflects both the history of English architecture and the 700-year story of a single family, the Leghs. As a wedding venue, Adlington Hall is a totally unique place to get married.
