Glasgow-set series The Nest, starring Line of Duty’s Martin Compston and Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle, tells the story of wealthy couple Dan and Emily who enlist a teenager to become their surrogate. The series centres around the couple's spectacular house (aka Cape Cove) on the shore of Loch Long on Scotland's Rosneath peninsula.
The property is built on the site of a former World War Two naval outlook post and is surrounded completely by glass walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and unfettered views of Loch Long.
Inside you'll find a huge open-plan living space, a roaring wood burner, a well-equipped stylish kitchen, four bedrooms (it can sleep up to 10 guests), four bathrooms and a quaint terrace. With stillness and beauty, it's the perfect place to recharge for a week.
There's also a practical utility room, a cloakroom, an additional shower room, and an impressive hot tub overlooking the pebble beach.
Despite being used as a film set, it really does feel like one of Scotland's best-kept secrets. The interiors here are modern, streamlined and smart: think slate grey hues, dazzling whites, Scandi-style wooden accents and pops of dramatic deep-blue accents. At night, it becomes even more sophisticated; the moonlight glistens on the still water, the roaring fire adds additional warmth and the second terrace provides a cosy, grown-up spot for dining.
The property has also received award recognition from the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) and the Saltire Society Housing Award back in 2012.
As for the area? Loch Long is a body of water in Argyll and Bute, measuring 20 miles in length. Visitors will love fishing for fresh mackerel from the mini pier or whiling away weekends sailing at the world-famous Firth of Clyde.
