An imposing 14th century 20-bedroom castle in the heart of Fife, Scotland, is on the market for £1.5 million.
Fernie Castle, which is currently a registered hotel, has some serious scene-stealing features throughout. While each room in the treehouse is certainly elegant, the real trump card here is the unique bedroom, which has large tree trunks growing up from the floor. The neighbouring bathroom is pretty impressive, too, with forest-inspired wallpaper, more tree trunks and a free-standing deep-green bath. It's the kind of place that will transport you to the pages of a fairytale in an instant.
The castle is registered as a hotel but is used by the current owners for private lunches, dinner parties, conferences and weddings. It's situated in the deep folds of Fife, surrounded by woodlands and pretty countryside walking routes.
