Crystal Palace has been named the Best Place to Live in London in the 2022 Sunday Times Best Places to Live report.
The annual list – which crowned Ilkley in West Yorkshire as the overall UK winner – comes with a regional breakdown, including the best places to live in the capital.
So what other areas in London made it onto the final list? In London, the focus is much more on the suburbs than the centre this year, with Hanwell, New Malden and Teddington also noted as desirable places to move to.

They say a 'glow' is coming back to this village-like location with its parks, period mansions, cool cafés, indie shops, strong schools and panoramic city views.
From the streets that make up Westow Triangle, to Crystal Palace FC, aka the Eagles, and the Italian-style pedestrian tunnel which is undergoing a £3.2 million restoration, Crystal Palace has earned its spot as the best place to live in London this year.

'From Brunel to Crossrail, connections have always been important in this up-and-coming patch of Zone 4,' say ST.
This leafy west London suburb is home to a zoo, known to locals as Bunny park, and there's soon to be direct trains through the city centre to Canary Wharf as part of the Elizabeth Line. For estate agents, Hanwell is an 'undiscovered gem', but it has definitely been explored by families priced out of nearby Ealing.

King Cross has made the list for its 'cool, central, cultured' neighbourhood, that's also home to a varied cuisine.
Described as a great hotspot for urbanites, you're never far from a pocket park, playground, bench or bike rack. Its centrepiece is the Coal Drops Yard shopping and lifestyle district.

'Bring on the bibimbap: you’ll be spoilt for choice for good schools and delicious Korean food in this tasty suburb,' explain ST, who say the Korean community is 'woven into the area's fabric'.
New Malden also wins points for its high street, strong state schools, direct trains to central London and period family homes for those priced out of Wimbledon, Putney or Earlsfield.

Fancy making a move to Teddington this year? 'With a high street that ranges from the basic to the boutique and posh parks galore, TW11 is for those who think that living in Zone 6 is to be cherished, not a chore,' say ST.

And last on the list is Victoria Park. Described as an ideal location if you 'tire of urban hipster Hackney', Victoria Park boasts a family-friendly blend of glorious green space, independent shops and pubs, strong state schools and yellow-brick period homes.
