M&S Food has launched a new miniature shop, Little Shop, offering children the chance to collect up to 25 miniature toy food products and build their own mini M&S food hall.
Stuck for imaginative school holiday ideas? Here's one from M&S we are certain the kids will love. All you have to do to get involved is head to the till after you have finished your food shop and you will be offered a Little Shop collectable pack containing one of the 25 iconic minis (only when you spend £20 or more).
Collectables are handed out at the till in concealed paper packets and must be opened to reveal the mini M&S Food icon inside. Alongside the food collectable, the pack includes a fun collector's card with facts about the product.
From mini Percy Pigs to British strawberries and M&S' best-selling prawn sandwich, the collectables feature some of the supermarket's iconic products for children to collect. Birthday party icon, Colin the Caterpillar cake, is also celebrated in miniature along with a collectable Chicken Tikka Masala.
The aim of Little Shop is to encourage imaginative play as well as educating children about where the food on their plate comes from during their six-week summer school break. As they help their parents with the weekly shop, they too can collect their own miniature toy versions to play with at home.
Furthermore, M&S Food will help children to collect the full range of food miniatures by hosting swap events throughout the summer. With swap pop-ups in 70 M&S Cafes across the UK, customers can easily find their missing collectables. Customers can also use the hashtag #mylittleshop across social media to locate the events or even create their own swaps themselves.
And if that wasn't enough, children can even get their hands on their very own miniature trolleys and metal shopping baskets. Kids will love the replica cardboard Little Shop front complete with till and shopkeeper sign (which can be purchased in stores for £10), mini metal shopping basket and mini trolley (£3 each) and the Little Shop apron (£3).
Why not pop into your local M&S Food store with your children during the holidays? It's a great and fun way to keep them entertained over the summer...
