From letterbox flowers to bouquets...
Escape to the Chateau's Angel Strawbridge has launched a beautiful new flowers range with Next. Over the last few years, the much-loved TV star, along with husband Dick Strawbridge, has taken viewers on a renovation journey of their 19th-century fairy tale chateau, Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson, in the Pays de la Loire, France. Now, Angel is turning her hands to this exciting new collection.
The Chateau by Angel Strawbridge boasts six delightful styles, from letterbox flowers to delicately wild and colourful bouquets, all designed exclusively by Angel.
'I have a real love for flowers,' begins Angel. 'My husband Dick would say that I’m obsessed! How could you not love the scents, colour, forms, textures and their fleetingness? Our home is always full of flowers, often foraged or cut from the garden.
'Since I started hosting events over 20 years ago, I have always arranged flowers. I used this time to relax before the event started. Now that we host weddings and events at our home, I have the perfect excuse to play with lots of flowers, all year round, at The Chateau!'
Aside from starring on Channel 4's hit TV series, and running a successful business at the chateau with Dick, Angel has her own interiors collection of wallpapers, fabrics and cushions, and last November, she collaborated with Sainsbury’s on an exclusive collection of home fragrances inspired by the wildflowers growing around the grand 45-bedroom French chateau.

Delivered straight to your door, these letterbox flowers contain delicate chasmanthium, wax flower white, ornithogalum, white veronica, eucalyptus parvifolia and craspedia.
'Who doesn’t love a surprise (I certainly do), and what could be better than arriving home to find an unexpected box filled with a wonderful treat popped through your door! This beautiful bunch of flowers is delivered unarranged so you can try your hand at recreating a little bit of Chateau wild flower style,' says Angel.
'Botanicals and white flowers flawlessly combine in this elegant bouquet,' explains Angel. 'Heavenly scents from eucalyptus in all its forms mix with berries and statement grasses, finding the perfect blend of white and wild.'
With tulips, matricaria, orange asclepia and eucalyptus, this bouquet personifies spring.
'For me, springtime marks the end of winter. The walled garden bursts to life and when the sunny tulips arrive in all their glory, the winter wardrobe goes away and focus turns to nurturing the garden,' says Angel. 'Loved by butterflies, asclepias is the perfect complement to copper, pink and white tulips, each one like a delicate cup soaking all the springtime up.'
A delightful and elegant bouquet, this arrangement is one of our favourites.
Angel explains: 'Eucalyptus, with its scent that fills the room, is my "in love" foliage. The Chateau Garden bouquet celebrates everything I’m growing (or trying to grow) here at The Chateau. It is wonderfully whimsical with setaria grasses, towering scabiosa pods and twisting spray Veronica pink.'
With cerise and purple roses, and the gorgeous orange ranunculus, this bouquet packs a punch and tops our wish list. Butt what inspired this beautiful bouquet?
'Inspiration and romance complement each other in many ways! The first part of our Walled Garden planted for me by my husband was the Rose Garden,' explains Angel. 'It had to be scented roses; who knew Dick would be so fussy? Every time I walk into theWalled Garden and it’s bursting with the bright and bold colours, I smile. The Chateau Wild Rose is inspired by this.'
'I love colour; it makes me smile! Every shade of violet is a favourite of mine and each year I have at least one or two rows of violet flowers in my cutting garden,' explains Angel. 'The burgundy germini and purple astrantia blend everything together, softened by the delicate chasmanthium grasses. This bouquet feels like a timeless classic.'
