Air fryers have become an important part of the kitchen this year, revolutionising how we prepare meals by cooking everything from meat and fried favourites to cakes and desserts.
Utilising much less oil, air fryers provide a healthier alternative to traditional oven cooking or shallow frying — and now, more recent multi-cooker models include an air fryer function too.
Whether you've had your air fryer for years or just a short while, you'll know there are a few areas in which life could be made just a touch easier (just adding a second drawer was revolutionary!). And as we get to know our air fryers better, we find different ways of putting them to good use.
So if you don't love the idea of upgrading to a whole new model this Cyber Monday, we're here to help with a few accessories that will enhance your air fryer experience.
These small, silicone, heat-resistant gloves are ideal for removing basket liners, racks or ramekins out of the air fryer drawer.
While it may be a healthier way to cook, it still gets very hot! And this is much easier — and more hygienic — than trying to get a grip on a scorching silicone liner with a tea towel.
One of the biggest benefits of using an air fryer is that it requires much less oil (if any) to cook our favourite dishes.
This oil mister looks great on the kitchen counter and allows you to spritz the oil of your choice exactly where you want it in the drawer, and throughout cooking if needed.
These useful egg moulds are ideal for making — you guessed it — many types of eggs, without making a mess all over the air fryer drawer. They also make great mini cake tins for individual desserts, muffins or pies.
We all know the importance of ensuring food is cooked through, and using a thermometer probe saves the faff of taking food in and out to see how far along it is.
This one uses a red LED light and a hold function to keep the temperature on screen, and you can choose to measure in celsius or fahrenheit.
If you have an air fryer with two drawers (otherwise known as 'dual zone'), you'll find this kit useful.
It includes two silicone baskets, a skewer rack, a grill rack, two silicone gloves and a tong, so it's everything you need to get your air fryer working at its best — just be sure to check that the equipment fits your fryer before buying.
We use basket liners almost every time we use our air fryer, simply because they are so easy to clean. Pop them in the dishwasher (or leave them to soak if needed), instead of awkwardly trying to get into every corner of the air fryer drawer.
They're particularly useful when cooking something cheesy or involving sauce (hello, quick pasta bake), as you can put your ingredients into the basket liner and then put the basket into the air fryer tray.
If you need more space than a silicone basket allows, or have an air fryer with one drawer, reusable liners like this one are useful to have to hand.
This one from Lakeland is dishwasher safe (but also easy to wipe clean) — simply cut it to the size of your air fryer drawer before placing in your air fryer.
Ninja's tough cleaning brush helps get into each corner and crevice of your air fryer, thanks to its scraper for tough marks and spillage stains — and then you can put the brush itself in the dishwasher.
We'd recommend giving your air fryer a thorough clean every now and again, even if you're using liners and baskets.
