We're big fans of Habitat's furniture range for so many reasons: it's affordable, design-led, and always on-trend. And now the brand is offering made-to-order upholstery in a fabulous (and rather extensive) selection of fabrics and colours across a range of sofas, armchairs and footstools.
Made in the UK, the exclusive new collection heralds the return of much-loved Habitat archive designs, including the Hendricks, Swift and Fenner sofas – with each design being brought up-to-date with modern finishes and colours.
The collection also welcomes new designs created by Habitat's in-house design studio, including the mid-century Turnmill, James Cottingham's Scandi-inspired Ayr and Will Hudson's timeless Holmfirth sofa.
What we particularly like about this range is the diverse array of colourways. With vibrant shades such as papaya, burnt orange, sky blue and emerald green, alongside plenty of neutral hues, there really is something for every interior scheme.
You'll find a variety of fabrics on offer too, including flat weave, textured weave, chenille and a lush velvet made from 100 per cent recycled materials. Better still, there's even an Aquaclean fabric option with stain-resistant technology that can be cleaned using just water.
'We know our customers want a more personalised experience when shopping for upholstery, which is why we’re launching our made-to-order collection, offering significantly more choice for shoppers to create a sofa or armchair that’s the perfect match for them,' says Hannah Mallett, director of product for Habitat.
'The new offering has a number of customisable options for designing a beautiful bespoke piece of furniture, including 21 new colourways and five different qualities available across two-seater, three-seater, chaise and corner seating styles. Customers can also select their preferred leg type, choosing between a dark wood or a lighter ash finish.'
Additionally, each sofa in the collection has been made with FSC timber, has a 15-year guarantee and comes with home assembly.

The Frome sofa is a fabulous choice for those with mid-century or Scandi-inspired schemes. It has a gently curved back and low armrests for an elegant yet minimalist look.

The Turnmill is one of Habitat's most popular comebacks – and we can see why. With a nod to mid-century design, it has a gently reclining back and lumbar-supporting bolsters for a plump, relaxing feel.

Another popular design is this Fenner sofa. Combining hand-buttoned, deep-fill seats and a neat box frame shape, this two-seater has a smooth, tonal look to suit contemporary living spaces.

The Lomond is a particularly special option from the new collection. It's part of the Full Circle range, meaning the main parts, such as its wooden frame and screws, can be fully recycled at the end of its life. Its gently angled design is not to be sniffed at, either.

The low and boxy style of the Ayr is perfect for contemporary living rooms. Designed with wide armrests, generously padded cushions and deep seats, this sofa is about comfort as much as it is style.
