A silly little luxury is pretty much the definition of a gift for anyone who loves home decor, and this mirrored tray is the perfect example. Whether she breaks out this tray for a quartet of Champagne flutes during cocktail parties or her collection of perfume bottles in her bathroom, she will absolutely feel a touch fancier with this piece in her life.

This Soho Home ceramic jug is such a beautiful piece that looks like it could have been plucked from a flea market in the South of France. It’s the perfect vessel for anything from sangria to orange juice, and it pops in the middle of the dining table during brunch.

The further we delve into the digital age, the less relevant a paperweight may seem, but we’re always here for it. This one, which is filled with dried flowers, adds the perfect touch of whimsy atop any desk.

Nothing sets the mood like a flickering flame at the top of a taper candle, and in our opinion, the candle holder is just as essential as the candle itself. This one, which is made of fluted marble, is so elegant and sophisticated that you’d be remiss to not gift it to your mom.

Any mom who loves to enjoy a crisp, cold beer could certainly elevate the experience with a beautiful bottle opener in the shape of a tiger. This one is comprised of solid brass, giving even the cheapest ale a fancier feel.

This glass fish doesn’t filter or cool water, but it does deliver it to a drinking glass in a far more stylish way than, say, a Larq or Brita pitcher. Yes, it’s an extra step (pouring tap water into your filter, then into the fish), but it’s worth it because we can pretty much guarantee that your mom will get more than a few compliments from her guests when she breaks this thing out.

Alabaster does not naturally come in a bright purple hue, and we’re okay with the fact that these are dyed to deliver this shade. For starters, these coasters look like candy. Secondly, they do serve a valuable function, especially if they’ll be living on a wood or marble surface, protecting it from water rings.

If there is one name synonymous with cool silver products, it’s Georg Jensen. Though the artist passed away in 1935, his brand and legacy certainly live on, and this sugar bowl (spoon included) is reason enough to keep it going.

This colored glass bud vase almost looks soft, like you could smush it between your fingers, but alas, it is a thick, hand-blown glass that’s actually a lot tougher than it looks. It comes in seven colors, but we’re partial to the gold (pictured) because it’s neutral enough to work in any space, but not boring in the slightest.

Yes, coffee table books can live on a coffee table (or media console) sans tray, but they look a little more polished when tucked neatly into one. This faux shagreen option is one of our favorites (and lives in Associate Shopping Editor Jessica Cherner’s living room), as it’s just big enough for a neat stack of coffee table tomes and a candle.

Moms who fancy themselves hostesses need place card holders. If she’s inviting the gals over for book club, wine night, Sunday brunch, or any other type of soirée, help her eliminate the drama of having her guests duke it out over the prime seat (next to her, of course), and just give her these place card holders.

If she keeps most of her daily appliances out on the countertop, help her swap out her old kettle for a chicer, modern one. “I love all of Fellow’s kettles, especially the gooseneck one, which is great for pour overs,” Senior Commerce Editor Marina Liao says. “They come in a variety of colors and are easy to use. I don’t mind leaving it out on my countertop (I have a pink one), and I've noticed that everyone, including my mother-in-law, always asks me where I got it. I feel like this would be a nice gift for the mom who wants practical gifts with a touch of thoughtful design.”

While some people can’t handle fragrance and prefer the natural scents that waft through the air, others welcome a little boost in good scents. If your mother falls into the latter category, there’s really no option other than this Glasshouse Fragrances diffuser. It comes in a beautiful, compact frosted-glass container, but it’s also extremely delicious-smelling. If the first day of summer had a scent, it would be identical to the oil in this diffuser.

There’s nothing worse than a soggy hand towel in the powder room, so if mom could use extras, get her these colorful striped ones from a new brand, Typical. They’re super absorbent, soft, and add the subtlest amount of pop to any bathroom.

If you’re familiar with the Hatch alarm clock, you may want to check out the one for babies as well—especially if you’re shopping for Mother’s Day for a new mom. Liao says, "For the aesthetics-focused mama-to-be, I would get them the Hatch Baby for their nursery. Just like the alarm clocks our editors love, the Hatch Baby can play soothing sleep sounds, has different light options, displays the time, and more, including the ability for you to record your own voice that your baby can fall asleep to if you don't have the energy to talk.”

Whether she’s growing flowers on the windowsill or herbs to garnish her nightly meals, she’ll find many uses for this glossy emerald-green pot (it comes in three sizes!). Each pot is handmade by small, family-owned Danish workshops with drainage holes and comes with a coordinating saucer.
