2 min readAs every good host knows, you always need snacks and drinks on hand to keep your guests happy. One of the essentials—and perhaps easiest to throw together in mere minutes—is a charcuterie board.
There’s been a lot of discussion over the years about how to put one together, the right ratio of cheese to fruit to meats to nuts, and how to arrange the goodies so that it’s fit for an IG Story post. But before you can even think about the arrangement, you first need to secure the right board for the job, and I just spotted a massive one from Costco.
While scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across a video from Laura Lamb of @costcohotfinds. During one of her Costco runs, she spotted a nearly four-foot-long charcuterie board that’s perfect for anyone hosting a big group. This centerpiece-worthy, walnut-colored board is made of acacia wood, and it costs only $60, which seems like a steal compared to many smaller boards that cost around $30 or more.
As a charcuterie board lover, I had to share the news with my colleagues, and suffice it to say, everyone was very impressed by the Costco item. “I can't stop laughing, this is HUGE,” said Digital Director Blair Donovan. Meanwhile, our Senior Digital Editor Melanie Yates immediately responded with, “Also impressed with this size!! That amount of cheese can feed several households.”
She’s not wrong—the board can hold every type of cheese your heart desires, from an 18-month-aged Gouda to a funkier Camembert you may want to place all the way at the other end. The board will definitely become the conversation piece of your tablescape and keep guests from going hungry until the main course arrives.
This elusive charcuterie board isn’t available to shop online at Costco (believe me, I searched for it), so you may only be able to source it at specific in-store locations. If you live near a Costco, see if you can scope one out in person, but for everyone else, I managed to find some similar, extra-long boards you can order right now.
Before you host your next gathering, make sure you grab yourself a 36-inch board or longer to fill with snacks—your guests will be thoroughly delighted and impressed.
