These are the spots our editors love to shop at.

Some things, like jeans, for example, require you to be in-person to purchase if you want that perfect fit. Other products—especially ones for your home–are easier to snag virtually. With that said, here are the best online furniture stores that make a serious case for buying the bigger-ticket pieces from the comfort of your home. Why, you may be wondering? Well, while so many of our go-to retailers have plenty to touch, sit on, and choose from in their brick-and-mortar outposts, they have way more to offer online. Best of all, you can browse and checkout your "cart" from the comfort of your bed or Cloud Couch while streaming your favorite Netflix show. (What? We love to multitask!)
So, if you're in the throes of redecorating and want to make the process as easy as possible, go ahead and shop our list below. Each retailer or brand offers its own perks that make us want to peruse it. For instance, Amazon offers free two-day shipping, West Elm includes white glove delivery, and The Citizenry taps artisans from around the world to handcraft their home goods. You really can't go wrong with these editor-beloved spots. Keep reading to find your next favorite destination for furniture and decor.

The only often difficult thing about ordering furniture—whether online or in person—is the lead times. The pandemic may be over, but the shipping delays are very much still a thing of the present. Luckily, however, TOV sells on Amazon, so if you see something you like, including this bouclé swivel chair, do yourself a favor and order it. You'll have it on your doorstep in as little as one week.

We have waxed poetic about Perigold more than once, but it's worth the rave. If you aren't familiar with the luxurious online-only brand, allow us to introduce you: It's owned by Wayfair, but you won't find much overlap in terms of product between the two sites. Here's why: Perigold was launched to bring trade-only brands to those without design degrees or firms. In other words, anyone can go online and order designer-approved goods they see on Perigold's site.

Birch Lane, a very cottagecore-friendly furniture outpost that sells its wares online, is also owned by Wayfair. As far as price point goes, we'd say it's between Wayfair and Perigold because it's not exactly cheap, but it's also not the most luxurious option on our list. This armchair, for instance, is $1,149 and includes free white glove delivery. There are plenty of cheaper options, though. Just be sure to check out the sale page.

Cura Home, whose name is inspired by the Latin word for "curate," sells a bevy of furniture and decor that is interesting, to say the least. By that we mean, nothing is boring or standard. Every single piece boasts some unique element that makes it totally original to Cura. You wouldn't be able to find something you see here on another site.

In our experience, whenever we tell people that Quince, an online-only brand famous for its affordable cashmere, sells furniture, the common response has been, "Wait, what?" While some Quince fans know that the brand does sell bedding (read our full review of Quince bedding), few realize it also sells full-blown furniture. You may not be able to outfit your whole home in Quince furniture, but you can definitely grab one or two things, including a beautiful bed frame.

GreenRow may not be as big a name as some others on this list, but give it some time because it's worth knowing. The online-only retailer is all about sustainable design, manufacturing, and shipping, which is why everything is made in the U.S.A. As far as aesthetics go, it's a bit kitschy, but we mean that in the best way. Think lots of bright colors, fun patterns, and ornately carved wood.

Lindye Galloway Studio is a full-service design firm based in California, and when the namesake designer launched her own shopping outpost, dubbed Le Maé, in September 2024, she infused each of the pieces with her classic California-cool vibe. Almost everything features natural wood and plenty of earthy tones.

"Article makes Scandinavian-inspired furniture that will blend in nicely with most decor styles. The pieces are affordable, yet stylish and high-quality, so you're getting a lot of value," Senior Commerce Editor Heath Owens says. "My Article coffee table has held up for years and looks like it would cost double the actual price." If you're wondering what Scandinavian design is, allow us to explain: It was a design influence that emerged during the now-iconic midcentury modern era—though, as its name implies, it came specifically out of Scandinavia. Aesthetically speaking, this type of furniture is simple and devoid of unnecessary detail.

As its name implies, AllModern's furniture collection boasts an undeniable midcentury feel. That said, because it's designed in today's era, it's built to last using durable materials. Plenty of the pieces are more contemporary iterations of pieces you'd recognize from the Bauhaus movement. Associate Shopping Editor Janae McKenzie says, "My green velvet sofa is the crown jewel of my living room and was such a find on AllModern. Their durable furniture has such a sleek silhouette and is vibrant, spacious, and comfortable, not to mention easy to move and assemble."

Frontgate is one of our favorite places to shop, and not just because we collaborated with the designers on a charming capsule collection. Mostly everything is made by the in-house designers for whom no detail is too small to ignore. Frontgate is most famous for its collection of durable outdoor furniture, but the indoor-only pieces, such as the Old World-inspired Angelina accent stool, are just as good.

Saatva is more famous for its luxurious mattresses than it is for furniture, so consider this our call to shop the latter category. All of the pieces are bedroom-specific, so if you're in need of a new bed, bench, or nightstand, Saatva is the place to go. Everything is made to order without chemicals and toxic materials, making it a sustainable brand we're obsessed with. One of the brand's biggest fans is our former deputy digital editor Katelyn Lunders, who loves her Rx mattress.
She says, "The firmness is just right. I've never felt more comfortable and supported while sleeping. Thanks to Saatva's body contouring and lumbar support, I feel an improvement in my hip and lower back pain." So feel free to buy your mattress and bed frame from Saatva for your next bedroom refresh.

Castlery prides itself on its aversion to trends, instead focusing on timeless classics. From wood dining tables to bed frames with underneath storage, you'll definitely find a piece that speaks to your soul on the website. The prices aren't bad either—for instance, this wood TV console comes in at just under $1k. Castlery's pieces are comfortable in every sense of the word and are time-tested for durability, too.

No list of online furniture stores would be complete without Amazon. You probably already know you can find furniture (and tons of it) on the site, but did you know that Amazon has its own furniture lines, Rivet and Stone & Beam? Whether your style's more industrial, midcentury modern, or full-on Joanna Gaines-inspired, Amazon has you covered. Senior Commerce Manager Mackenzie Dunn adds, "I bought a coffee table from Amazon that I am in love with. It looks sort of vintage and high-end but it was surprisingly affordable. You'd never know it was an Amazon find. Sometimes, you have to dig on there to find the right thing."

You can find virtually anything at Wayfair, from bed frames to composters, and for can't-beat prices either. "I love Wayfair because they have so much stuff, so if I wanted to, I could decorate my entire apartment—from the bed frame to the dishes—with Wayfair. I also love it because there's such a massive range of quality and price," Associate Shopping Editor Jessica Cherner says. "What makes this company so amazing, though, is the customer service. Nothing triggers my anger like talking to someone in customer service who is just reading from a script and not trying to help, and Wayfair is the opposite of that. I have never waited on hold for more than three minutes, and whoever I end up talking to always genuinely seems to want to help."

West Elm making this list shouldn't surprise you, but just in case you've never been to one of the brand's stores, you should check out its website. With prices on the higher end of affordable and a selection that goes well beyond furniture (though it does furniture so well), you'll want to check out the site. "I, like many others, redecorated my apartment during the pandemic. My first buy was a pale pink pedestal dining table. Almost four years later, I have no regrets about my semi-impulse purchase," Cherner says.

Lovers of preppy-coastal style know Serena & Lily for its classically chic furniture and decor—the Riviera stools are the perfect example. If they look familiar, you may have seen something similar arranged around an al fresco bistro table in the south of France. In fact, these specific rattan chairs were crafted in a time-honored technique employed by many French furniture designers: They're bent and shaped by hand until the iconic shape appears. All of Serena & Lily's furniture is made with such attention to detail.

If you're not already obsessed with Anthropologie's home section, it needs to be on your radar. Okay, so its prices aren't exactly affordable (though some pieces might surprise you!), but if Anthropologie is in your price range, you'll find tons of stunning, unique pieces, including this bohemian-inspired cane bed with a wrapped headboard. While we're on the subject of beds, you may as well snag your bedding from Anthropologie too. "I bought a beautiful duvet set from here a few years ago and it's still on my bed. It came with a duvet cover and two European-size shams. They're both so elegant. I always get compliments on my bed when people come over," Cherner says.

Nordstrom may not have a massive inventory of furniture, but it does have plenty of essentials that no home would be complete without. Case in point: the bedding. Nordstrom is like the holy grail of bedding because it carries pretty much every brand, including Boll & Branch, whose bedding bundle is pictured here. Cherner says, "I have never bought furniture from Nordstrom, but I do have the Boll & Branch sheets and they are incredible. They are definitely some of the softest sheets I've slept on in a long time. That said, they still boast that coveted crisp feeling everyone wants."

Etsy is the place you go to for one-of-a-kind pieces or furniture items you can't find at bigger retailers. "I've bought planters from France and a work desk handmade in Latvia from Etsy," Senior Commerce Editor Marina Liao says. "It's my favorite place to shop for when I want a piece not many people will have. Sometimes I just don't want the same decor as my friends who shop at West Elm or CB2 (even though I love those places too)."
Our former managing editor Olivia Hosken adds, "Etsy’s 'shop location' filter is highly underrated when you're looking to score amazing vintage and handmade deals. I set the shop location to my zip code or state, and search for anything from 'custom radiator covers' to 'nursery dresser' and can browse all the local furniture makers and vintage restorers with a few clicks. Bonus: A lot of sellers offer local pickup so you can save on those expensive furniture shipping fees too!" What's more, the "shop location" feature is not limited to any locale in the world, whether you're in a huge city in the United States or a tiny town in Morocco.

Another brand that's the brainchild of a husband and wife, Albany Park has been turning out some of the most comfortable sofas since the brand's inception in 2017. Take, for instance, the best-selling Kova Pit, which is so plush that it's a giant pillow. Darryl and Jessica Sharpton decided to launch their own brand after realizing first-hand that having unlimited sofa options was more overwhelming than it was helpful, so they released three models, all of which are universally comfortable and stylish.
