If you've ever listened to a podcast—any podcast—chances are, you've heard an ad for Quince. I am an avid podcast addict, so over the last several years, Quince ads have been streaming through my headphones at all times, and honestly, I'm not mad about it. In fact, I wanted to see if the promise of affordable luxury was legitimate, so I used the podcasts' various promo codes and scored a few pieces of bedding. It's safe to say the podcast ads barely do the brand justice; it's even better than advertised.

My first purchase was about two years ago (a down duvet insert), and I loved it so much that I ended up getting the duvet cover, a few sets of sheets, and a pillow in my next order. Now, it's been about a year and a half since then, and I am still very much in love with my Quince bedding. Keep reading to get the scoop on all of my products and, if you aren't a podcast listener, the scoop on Quince itself.

What's the Deal With Quince?

Quince doesn't promise to do anything out-of-this-world. The beauty is not so much in products that significantly outperform competitors'; Quince's magic lies in the gap between the quality, which is very good, and the price, which is very low. As a shopping editor, I feel as though I've been conditioned to accept overpaying for anything marketed as luxury, but Quince has pulled me out of that spiral. In my opinion, Quince is the most honest direct-to-consumer home goods brand on the market because it's not making the products cheaply and selling them for far more than their worth. That said, the materials are authentic—think silk, linen, 100 percent organic cotton, and even bamboo—and they're not trying to mislead consumers. I kind of feel like I'm gaming the system when I buy things from Quince.

What Makes Quince So Good?

To me, Quince is a brand that seems too good to be true: it's highly luxurious (see the materials used as proof) and also very affordable. I figured there had to be a catch, but there really isn't one. The brand has removed all luxury markup from its process (both in manufacturing and purchasing), which is why even the cashmere isn't exorbitantly expensive. Also, as a minimalist, I love Quince because everything is so simple. You'll never find anything brightly colored or aggressively patterned here.

Why Is Quince So Affordable?

According to Quince's website, the direct-to-consumer model is mostly responsible for the brand's affordability. It's not because the brand makes its wares with cheap materials, if that's what you were thinking. Instead, it sources its products directly from manufacturers, eliminating the traditional supply chain that includes warehousing, wholesaling, and distribution.

Now, let's move on to the products themselves.

Premium Down Comforter

Full disclosure: I have never been a comforter person. I did not have one growing up, in college, or in any of my apartments, but my fiancé has only ever slept with a comforter and wanted one in the home we now share, so that’s how I ended up with one. Let me just say: I don’t know if all comforters are like this or if it’s just the Quince one, but I fully believe that it is the reason I sleep so soundly. I didn’t do much research, but I knew I wanted a down comforter and already trusted Quince, so I chose the premium all-season down model. A year and a half later, I still love it.

I have, indeed, used it for all four seasons, and it’s never too hot or too cold. It’s also the perfect weight: It’s not heavy, but it’s also not paper-thin. My favorite thing about it, though, is the very subtle crinkle sound it makes when I move around at night. There’s something very comforting about that sound.

Quince Linen Bamboo Duvet Cover

I bought this out of necessity more than out of desire. I moved in with my boyfriend, who has always used a duvet. I, however, have only ever slept with a blanket and a quilt, so we compromised and got a duvet. In case you were wondering, the duvet insert is also from Quince! First, let me just say that the duvet is amazing. It's the premium down comforter, so if you sleep warm, this may not be for you, but I like being comfortable (not warm and not cold), so I love it.

As for the duvet cover, I spent a solid three days researching before pulling the trigger. I bought the linen bamboo one because I wanted something that looks like linen but is a bit softer and less prone to wrinkles. When I tell you that I read every single review of every single Quince duvet cover, I mean it. All of the reviews led me to the linen bamboo one, which, as its name implies, is a blend of the two materials. You get the cooling quality of both: the softness from the bamboo and the look of the linen. It also has internal ties to secure the comforter to the duvet cover and a row of buttons on the side to keep the duvet cover closed. These elements work together to keep the down duvet in place.

Quince European Linen Sheet Set

Full disclosure: I do not love linen sheets, but after a few colleagues raved about them, especially in the summer, I bought them. I slept on these sheets for a whole week before making any judgments. While I was pleasantly surprised, they still aren't my favorite, not because they aren't good. It's simply because I prefer super-soft sheets like pure bamboo (I have Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets and love them). The linen sheets are softer than linen clothing, which feels a bit scratchy to me, but they're definitely not silky-smooth. They also wrinkle a lot after sleeping on them for just one day.

That said, I slept on these during the dreaded 2024 Heat Dome that drenched the Midwest and Northeast in truly torturous temperatures, and I have to admit: I felt comfortable. The linen sheet set, which includes a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, is breathable and cooling (a natural quality of linen).

I knew I'd like these because I have a set of bamboo sheets from Cozy Earth. Quince's bamboo sheets are a little thinner than what I'm used to, but that's one of the reasons I like them. I don't use them much in the winter because they're not very warm, but I use them all summer. These sheets are great because they have a slight stretch, which makes them even softer. What makes them so soft is that they're made from 100 percent viscose bamboo (the pulp), which is more luxurious than rayon.

Quince Classic Organic Percale Sheet Set

I've been a percale gal for as long as I can remember. It's what I slept on in my childhood home and well into my adult life. Although I would call myself a bamboo convert these days, I'll revisit my percale set on colder days. The percale set is Quince's best-selling set, and after sleeping on it, I can understand why. They're marketed as hotel-worthy sheets, and as a former travel writer who has slept on my fair share of luxury hotel sheets, I can confirm that these are on par with the most expensive suites in the world.

They're thick, crisp organic cotton, so if you tend to get warm in your sleep, these may not be for you. Otherwise, you'll love them as much as I do because they really do make your whole sleep experience feel more elevated. Additionally, if you change your mind months later and want to return the sheets, Quince has a full-year return policy for its bedding products.

Is Quince Bedding Worth Buying?

The short answer is yes because you get the best of both worlds: luxury materials at an affordable price point. As you may have gleaned from my Quince haul, I am a fan of the brand, but if I had to pick a favorite bedding product, it would be the bamboo linen duvet cover, which also happens to be the product I was most nervous about. After all, I knew I didn't like linen, but I figured that because it's also made from bamboo, I could like it. Not only do I like it, but it's also my favorite bedding! It's so soft and is the dreamiest color (it's such a pale gray that, from afar, it almost looks white).

If you're not in the market for a duvet cover, though, go with the percale sheets. They're classic in all the right ways and aim to please, so if you have specific tastes and want something fail-proof, go for percale. On the other hand, if you know you're a fan of linen, get the linen sheets. They're cooling, breathable, and feature that typical linen weave people love. No matter what you get from Quince, though, you will adore it.
