Interior Design Masters winner John Cooper has launched his exclusive homeware collection with John Lewis, with prices starting from £8.

The bold, contemporary 20-strong range includes bedding, candles, cushions, fabric (by the metre), table lamps, a throw, a tote, towels, a quilt, wall art and a reimagined iconic John Lewis Blocky Chair – all combining geometric patterns with a distinct monochrome look.

The Stockport-based design and technology teacher met John Lewis’s in-house design team just two days after filming for the series ended.

'John came to us with a really clear creative vision – and collaborating with him was a real joy from start to finish,' says Fionnuala Johnston, lead textiles home designer at John Lewis. 'He had a strong sense of style and brought brilliant ideas to the table, from the initial sketches to the colour palette, which features a combination of monochrome and a warm toffee tone that feels both personal and on trend.'

Every product also tells a story, with many nostalgically named after places from where John grew up in Yorkshire, such as the Thwaite quilt (£180), Garth cushion (£35) and Keld fabric (£25 per metre).

Translating John's designs into 'high-street-ready pieces', Fionnuala says the result is 'a collection that feels considered, heartfelt, and full of personality' – and it's available to shop in-store and online now.

John, who won the sixth series of IDM after impressing head judge Michelle Ogundehin with his transformation of a holiday cottage in Portmeirion, North Wales, described the collaborative process with John Lewis as an 'incredible experience'.

He explains, 'Together, we have designed homeware rooted in bold design, raw texture, and honest materials. It's a collection with soul, made to bring warmth, character, and a bit of edge into the home. I am extremely proud of the collection and cannot wait to see it in stores!'

This isn't the first time that the winner of IDM has collaborated with a retailer. Series five winner Roisin Quinn launched her homeware collection with La Redoute. Previously, winners of the show won commercial contracts: 2023 winner, Monika Charchula, redesigned a cocktail bar in central London, while 2022 winner Banjo Beale landed a contract to redesign a four-bedroom holiday home in Cornwall.
