Bows have been the big story of Christmas 2023 – great big velvet ribbons in candy cane colours looking fabulous adorning trees and front doors. We are convinced that this trend will continue long after Christmas, as part of a resurgence in sweet vintage detailing in the home – alongside scalloped accessories, ruffling and candy cane stripes.
A nascent trend in homeware, bows are adorning glasses, placemats, napkins and candles for a nostalgic and playful table setting. At John Lewis, we're seeing duvet covers and striped seat cushions trimmed with sweet bows, and Glassette have a fabulous wallpaper border that ties a room together like a perfectly wrapped present.
