The RHS Chelsea Flower Show People's Choice Award winners have been announced, with Kazuyuki Ishihara winning Best Show Garden for his gold-medal winning Cha no Niwa – Japanese Tea Garden, which also won Garden of the Year earlier this week.

It's been another year of showstopping, innovative and thought-provoking gardens at RHS Chelsea, and following a slew of gold medals (as well as silver gilt, silver and bronze), these final awards, revealed towards the end of the week-long horticultural event, are often the most coveted – as they are entirely based on public opinion.

Designed for quiet reflection, this Japanese tea garden is all about harmony and forging connections with nature. It's influenced by the traditional flower-arranging art of ikebana (‘making flowers alive’), specifically the Ikenobo School, with stones and plants thoughtfully placed to interact with each other.

Following an emotional win earlier in the week, Kazuyuki wasn't present to receive his second award as he was on a flight back to Japan, but his son accepted the award in his honour.
