From spectacular show gardens to inspiring small-space balcony and container gardens, plus immersive indoor jungles

The results are in: The RHS Chelsea Flower Show's winning gardens have been announced for 2025.
Held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the most famous and prestigious gardening event in the world sees designers and exhibitors come together to celebrate all things horticulture in a jam-packed week.
There are 16 Show Gardens this year, big and small, all vying for gold, from Tom Massey's AI-powered garden to Jo Thompson's beautiful rose-filled glasshouse garden. 10 Balcony and Container Gardens offer the perfect small-space inspiration, all united with a common theme of creating a place to relax amongst nature; there are four All About Plants gardens with a focus on unusual and specialist plants; and then there's the most talked about garden at Chelsea this year, the non-judged RHS and Radio 2 Dog Garden by none other than Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don. Plus, there are five Houseplant Studios showcasing creative ideas for indoor gardening, and an outdoor installation (not judged) by headline sponsors The Newt in Somerset.
Undergoing a rigorous judging process, RHS judges awarded garden designers with medals (Gold, Silver Gilt, Silver and Bronze) on the official opening day on Tuesday (20th May), and some Best in Show awards were handed out too – including a change to one of the biggest accolades.
The previous Best Show Garden award has been renamed Garden of the Year, and for 2025 it has been presented to veteran RHS Chelsea designer, Kazuyuki Ishihara, for Cha no Niwa – Japanese Tea Garden, his first large Show Garden. The garden designer now has a total of 13 RHS Chelsea Gold medals, bolstered by his first RHS Chelsea Garden of the Year.
'I'm very honoured to receive this wonderful award – I never thought I'd have such a gift,' said Kazuyuki. 'I really still cannot believe it after working here for 20 years. It's such an honour to have it.'
The most coveted awards of all, the People's Choice Awards, have also been announced – voted for entirely by the public. The only category not included is the Feature gardens, as these are not judged. See the winners below.
