Zoopla has revealed what house hunter's really wanted from a property in 2019 after analysing over 12 months worth of research.
Coming in at the top of the list is a property with a garage, as more homeowners are searching for homes with safe spaces to store their cars. The study also found that Brits are lovers of nature, as gardens came in second on the search criteria, closely followed by parking and bungalows.
Those searching for homes in the South West are eager to snap up coastal properties, as search terms such as 'sea view' and 'cottage' also made the top 10.
Over in the East of England, house hunters were looking for homes in rural areas with a swimming pool. Bungalows were also high on the list for those moving house.
Laura Howard, Consumer Expert at Zoopla, said: 'Whilst terms such as 'garage', 'parking' and 'driveway' demonstrate that Britain still loves its cars, there are unique differences that reflect the needs of local property markets. These include the prevalence of Help to Buy in expensive London and a desire for secluded property to take advantage of Scotland’s beautiful scenery.
'The once unfashionable bungalow continues to make a comeback highlighting an ageing population that wants to enjoy the benefits that single-floor living provides.'
