Stow away clutter with ease and grace.

Storage baskets are the organisational must-have that never lets you down. From tidying up children's toys to stashing laundry, there’s a storage basket to suit every household's needs. The best examples are ultra-versatile, lightweight, and come in a myriad of designs – what’s not to like?
As Lauren, owner of Not A Boring Box, puts it: 'Storage baskets are great for grouping and containing items around your house.' Using dedicated basket for each type of clutter – from magazines to knitting projects – brings tidiness and order.
To help you choose the ideal storage solution, we've rounded up 15 of our favourite baskets for storage, from wicker designs with a boho look to large storage baskets that come with a lid to tuck anything unsightly away.
While bold, vibrant basket designs are available, understated storage baskets with a natural or lightly decorated finish seem to have a timeless appeal and enduring popularity.
‘We've found that the large plain braided baskets with built-in handles are most popular as they have a multitude of uses,’ says Tasha Green, founder of Weaver Green. 'They're large enough to put laundry in and strong enough to carry heavy items such as piles of magazines.'
If you want to take organisation to the next level, choose your storage basket with care. Whilst all baskets provide some storage, there'll always be a best-fitting choice for the job at hand.
‘Clear storage baskets are great in the kitchen and fridge, as they let you see what you have and when you are running low,' advises Lauren, owner of Not A Boring Box. 'Neutral storage baskets made out of seagrass and wicker can be great for spaces where you entertain and they blend in with your decor.'
When it comes to your wardrobe, Lauren says: 'Lined storage bins are great for storing delicate items of clothing and prevent them from snagging.'
And if you have a busy family home, choose open storage baskets with handles. 'That way, kids won't have to struggle with lids and can throw all their toys back into the basket when it comes to tidy up time,' says Lauren.
Tasha's storage tip: 'Choose a storage basket that matches the colour scheme of the room you're in, so that it will look good on display by the side of the sofa or tucked away in a cupboard for extra storage.'
The ideal location for your storage basket depends on its use. Bathroom storage baskets make brilliant toiletry or laundry hampers (depending on their size), while wire storage baskets make handy additions to kitchen shelves. In our opinion, if there's something to be stored, there's a basket to suit – just think about which areas of your home would benefit most from a little tidy-up.
'I love to use a storage basket at the front door,' says Lauren. 'It tends to be the place where items get dumped, so I say embrace that and add a stop-gap storage basket.'
Tasha suggests keeping storage baskets on hand throughout the house: 'Have them by the side of the sofa with an extra throw in them, in a bedroom as a laundry basket, or even outside with a few plant pots in them!'
