Below, interior designers and colour experts have shared with us the trending front door colours for 2025, plus styling tips for the perfect entrance. Whether you need to replace an old, worn-down front door or want to repaint yours for a fresh new look, try these on-trend shades.
While butter yellow has been a huge spring decor trend, bright yellow is a much more impactful choice for your front door. 'A bright, sunshine yellow always looks fabulous,' explains Anna Hill, brand director at Fenwick & Tilbrook. It also works for both modern and maximalist styles. Choose matt black hardware to keep it sleek or opt for flower, bee or bunny hardware to create a cute conversation starter as soon as you open the door.

Moodier shades have been making waves this year, with more people going back to black for their front door colour. 'Black continues to prove really popular as it can really make the surrounding building and plants pop,' explains Anna.
'To keep it from feeling too stark, pair it with warm-toned stone steps or a soft neutral exterior,' adds Kunal Trehan, interior designer and founder of Touched Interiors. You can also hang up a metallic wreath and attach gold hardware for a luxe finish that's both timeless and bold.

You might have thought that Barbiecore pinks were out of style — but think again. Bringing personality to the home is a must, and if you want your bubbly attitude to reflect on the outside as well as the inside, a fun pink door could be the way to go.
'Pink turns a front door into an instant mood booster,’ says Maria Ramirez, founder of BB Interiors. Hang up a chic seasonal spring wreath and pick a playful door knocker for an Instagrammable finish.
For those wanting a sophisticated yet natural look, olive green is fast becoming a go-to for both inside and outside the home. 'It offers a perfect blend of heritage charm and contemporary appeal,' says Kunal. Pair it with brass or matt black hardware for a refined finish.
You can also complement the lush green with potted bay trees or topiaries. 'A classic lantern-style wall light completes the look, adding warmth and depth in the evening,' Kunal adds.

If black is a little too dark for you, midnight blue is a beautiful way to go to the dark side. It also reflects light better. 'They work particularly well on period properties and townhouses, lending an air of understated sophistication,' says Kunal.
For an added layer of elegance, place a pair of oversized planters in sleek stone or cast iron on either side of the entrance. You could also add a gold front door number sign for a sophisticated touch.
