- Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram to share a wedding day throwback in celebration of her 29th anniversary with her husband, Matthew Broderick.
- Broderick and Parker have been an “It couple” since they began dating in 1992.
- The pair have shared the stage in two Broadway productions, have amassed an impressive New York real estate portfolio, and have three children.
It’s been 29 years since Matthew Broderick swept our favorite 2000s It girl off the market. Just one year shy of their pearl anniversary, Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to her husband.
The And Just Like That star posted a sentimental collection of photos from their early years together. Also pictured were her wedding veil and tiara, presumably worn during the couple’s 1997 Lower East Side ceremony. To make the moment even sweeter, she paired the post with “Forever Young” by The Band and signed the caption, “Forever young. Xxx, Your wife, Sarah Jessica.” Honestly, could she be any sweeter?
Fans were quick to flood the comments with well-wishes for many more happy years together, along with a flurry of clinking champagne flute emojis in celebration of their love. One fan marveled at how quickly time has passed, writing, “How time flies!!!” Fellow TV star Mindy Kaling chimed in too, saying, “The only couple ever, really.”
Parker and Broderick are a Hollywood rarity—a couple that feels truly well-matched. Their marriage remains one of the most enduring in modern pop culture. In nearly three decades together, Ferris Bueller and Carrie Bradshaw have hardly taken a day off. They’ve built impressive careers, cultivated an enviable New York real estate portfolio, and raised three children side by side.
Though they’ve been married for nearly 30 years, Parker and Broderick have been together much longer. Originally introduced by Parker’s brothers in 1991, the pair went on to date for almost five years before tying the knot, sharing their lives and the stage together in the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying before officially saying “I do.”
It’s hard to imagine a couple more quintessentially Y2K than SJP and MB. So here’s to them: May the years ahead be as joyful as Carrie in Bergdorf Goodman and as carefree as Ferris Bueller dancing through the Von Steuben Day Parade.
