Joanna Gaines recently gave fans a summer treat. The home reno star shared rare snapshots from her summer retreat—and even sweeter, all five of her kids were featured.

Fans were ecstatic to see the full family spending time together in the mountain air, flooding the comments with sweet sentiments. One wrote, “So nice, love seeing the family 🥰,” while another mused at the mountain terrain, writing, “Heaven on earth!”

Chip and Jo have made it a point to keep their children’s lives private, seldom sharing updates or photos on screens or social feeds. Seasoned fans will remember Drake, now 21; Ella, 19; Duke, 18; Emmie, 16; and youngest Crew, 8, from brief on-screen appearances and a sprinkle of Instagram posts over the years. The short Reel compiling the trip is set to “The Mountains Are Calling” by Citizen Wild, and shows the Gaines kids stepping on river stones, building a makeshift house out of sticks, and even taking a seat at the rodeo—but their smiling faces aren’t the only thing fans will find familiar.

The trip took the family back to their Colorado mountain home, which fans will recognize as the couple’s first renovation project outside of Joanna’s hometown, Waco, Texas. Last year, the project was featured on a spinoff series, Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House, in which the entire renovation process was captured for a three-episode special. Eldest daughter Ella also took the main stage in the special, taking on her very first design project, a small cottage set on the property.

When Chip and Joanna first found this mountain home, built circa 1960, they fell in love with its great bones, vaulted ceiling beams, and stone-faced fireplaces. They kept many of the original workings, but poured a decent amount of work into giving the property the signature Joanna farmhouse touch, complete with a kitchen finished almost entirely in natural wood. It doesn’t get more rustic than that!
